It's absolutely hilarious how Louis manages to both stand out and fit in with literally any group of people. He has that kind of awkward charm. A non-threatening demeanor that makes people want to talk, whether it's convicted criminals, hardcore nazis or what have you.

Guards either act like sociopath drill Sargents, not my problem, or pals. Sometimes variations of all three. Most guards can read an inmate and they’ll joke around here and there but above all the worse guards are the lazy ones. When I was on the inside my cellie wanted to play hand ball so he asked the guard for the hand ball at yard. The guard said “what?’ You wanna hurt yourself?! Cause hitting a small hard rubber ball hard sounds like hurting yourself.” And my cellie was like “no no I’m good.” The guard would rather lie and get him sent to psych instead of just looking for the damn ball 🤦‍♂️
