How to Brush Your Teeth With Gum Recession

Do you try to avoid brushing the gum altogether or softly brush the gum using maybe 2 or 3 finger light pressure? I am worried aboyt making recession worse, I got it from agressive brushing.

Doc, i have gum recession i feel dull pain sometimes, i am using a chemical free toothpaste and a natural mouthwash as well is it fine?

I had gums bleeding suddenly while brushing or while eating but it was less but in multiple teeth is it concerning or normal, can be corrected by cleaning the teeth the way you have described along with natural mouthwash

I remember the dentist in my school taught me to brush up and down 20 years ago.. I think they made a mistake as its common for people around my age to have gum recession due to this teaching

I switch to an oral b io and my teeth hurt like crazy. I tried sensitive and gum care, and even purchased the sensitive brushes, but the pain didn't stop. I have receding gums and I'm definitely going to try brushing like this. God bless you sir for your help.

I use swedish snus, pouches wintergreen. No tobacco is safe. But it's the safest. Same company that makes nicotine pouches. Probably safer than vaping. Lowest levels of carcinogens,ntsas, prepared different that USA smokeless chew or moist snuff(dip) Even so, if you don't use tobacco don't. I'm no advocate. Other than switching.

I'm quitting again however. It can destroy peoples gumline. My upper incisors (I don't know the name, the fangs I guess) especially. It's slow, but it's coming along and getting scary

I believe that the act of gentle tooth brushing is very good for stopping or even reversing gum recession because it massages the gum s as well while cleaning bringing blood flow into this area. I brush my teeth for a minute or more and i believe it as helped.

My dentist did notice my gum recession and told me to literally brush my gums :/

I'm 26 and my front teeth are a little loose. I have been so depressed. I also have braces. I have been trying to schedule appointments and they keep telling me I have to get them taken off first. But the thing is thewmy weren't done professionally. ( I know silly me) but I need answers my teeth can be saved right??

Thank you! I have lichen planus of the gums. I’ve been going to a peridontist for at least 15 years. I get annoyed because I often have to ask how my hygiene is. It should be automatically told to me with areas that need improvement. I’ve never been told not to use an electric toothbrush which I don’t like anyway despite getting an ultrasoft brush for it.

But I just feel like it doesn’t clean good enough

I have Gum Recession, and it's a pretty bad one. My dentist keep told me, I have brush my teeth with Modified Bass Technique......so, which way I should follow??pls do let me know, I don't want my gum getting worse than now😭

Well that explains why my gums have been receding slowly the past several years. I've been using a electrical tooth brush. Time to start using soft tooth brushes again.

i think i have this because whenever i brush my gums it hurts really bad and my gums are really up/down

I’m 16 and I brush too hard and two of my teeth I notice are receding and those are the places I brush very hard and aggressively and would even bleed and swell, I was scared but now I realized also I don’t floss so I will for that now and fix my diet as I eat TONS of sugary foods I want my teeth to last I’m only 16 PEOPLE 😭
