The Zikim base was not overrun. It was successfully defended by it's command personnel, with 2 casualties IIRC. All Hamas terrorists who raided the base met their creator at the end of the battle. It is also not a main recruit base. Homefront command soldiers get their basic training there.

Looks like a great vehicle. Wish the US had an analog. Many of our vehicle have an air transport requirement and designs limited to what a C-17, C5 can carry. Hence the width, length limits we have as an expeditionary force. Perhaps we should have variants that can be ship delivered and emplaced such as these that can be positioned in Europe, Asia. By all means, keep parts similar or same across all variants such as strikers, M2, M1 as applicable. For Gods sake, please standardize controls! There is no need for every vehicle to have different control configurations, Keep those the same and merely update electronics and capabilities. Even in aircraft he stricken stick grips are custom made for each aircraft and not interchangeable.

The Stryker is ( 9' ) in width. So if you are correct that would make the "Eitan" --> ( 12' ) Wide ? Which is literally impossible !
Typically with these type of wheeled vehicles they try to take into consideration the average width of the very roadways that they will be traveling on. A ( 12' ) "MON-STAH" would have a Very tough time maneuvering around our Super-wide ( in comparison of course ) US streets & roadways. Let alone the typically Old/Ancient designed for "Ox-Cart" streets & roadways found over there.

The US should build a licensed version of the ATON for the US ARMY & MARINES to replace the Strykers.

A quick fact: In this war, a tank blew up (and the soldiers sadly passed away 😥) , I am not sure which type, but it had a missile defense system, at the time we thought it malfunctioned, but it was found that it did work yet bomb shards managed to penetrate the armour and blew up the inside munition.
