Last gen AMD would perform much more power-efficiently than Intel does here, but sadly they don't have the mass production power than Intel does...

I left Windows because of Windows 10 and never looked back. I don't like malware baked deep in my operating system. If for some reason I need to use a Windows application that isn't supported on my Mac I use Parallels.

I’ve been using Macs for too long but used to be a big PC user. Is this just OEM installed bloat? For instance, if you built your own desktop PC and installed Windows fresh then it would be clean, right?

Windows search was great in Win 8, before they added all the online crap. That is what made W10 search suck.
But yeah, it has improved again, just not as good as 8.

Lots of misinformation here. The 'bloat' you are talking about is from the manufacturer of the laptop, it's not standard in windows and won't be there for anyone who installs windows themselves. Also it's been... what a decade since I have had windows interrupt me for an update I think. Windows will download updates as available and install them next time you restart. Of course you can force it to do what you are saying, but that would be a little dishonest don't you think?

Too many bright people expect Apple to be a premium computer company, They are not. They are just expensive. Most people would be better buying more machines more often and being able to carry on with the tasks They need these machines for with less stress. With same budget this is a better strategy.

To move files in the Mac Finder instead of copying: option-command-v.

Besides, I disagree that managing spaces on Windows is better than the Mac. Expose and Mission Control have excellent drag & drop control letting me drag files and content between windows between spaces.

Mac and Windows have their own advantages, and disadvantages.
However for me personally, the biggest red flag, that does I don't want to use Windows when I have the option, is the inconsistency between devices. Let's say I want to buy a laptop, there is SO much crap out there, and there is so many different models and so forth, and the build quality always suck.
And Windows power management, I HATE it, sucks too much battery for things, that really don't need to be using too much battery, the laptop gets insanely hot, when i try to do bare minimum work, it's frustrating.

The trackpad, is also a killer for me, Windows trackpads is just not up to the test, compared to a Macbook, they are consistenly bad, some are better than others, but overall it's a really bad experience. I see so many people at work (Primarly Windows workplace) having to go around with a mouse if they have to use the "laptop" part of the laptop, just because the trackpad sucks, really unproffesional, and isn't needed when having a Macbook.

I like the Mac, switched a long time ago, if you wan't to play games, sure, Mac can't do shit. But overall I think the Mac is the best option overall. (Not to talk about their ecosystem).

I grateful to be not dependent on Apple apps cause I really dislike the OS. Why you can't use USB to share internet between phone and computer, WiFi waste energy on both devices while providing less speed. Then thanks to the security question my account was like locked down, the appstore won't update the OS it keep circling the rainbow your only option it's to force exit. I call Apple support and they couldn't figure out, so I say I should probably make a new account, just to test. The Mac support guy agree and after my own suggestion the Mac could get to the last update.
To be clear not having a pop up window that says something like: your account as been locked down please follow the steps on this link to recover your account. Most low volume stores with webpages that sells just locally haven't got this problem. Then one time MacOS decide that's something was wrong with the hard drive and format my computer to factory with out any option to take out the drive for recovery. Difficultys to run the fan at the speed you want, I mean you can force almost any windows laptop at MacBook price to don't even turn the fan or blow at max speed right from the boot.
So I have paid more for a better OS and I still have a feeling that the issues I've got with Mac are more painful cause it supposed to be more Pro but the OS give me problems that I just experience with cheap machines full of pre installed malware or with really low hardware like cheap ram causing any OS to fail not just windows machines.
So my conclusion was if you are a professional that want the best quality, there's no OS capable of doing that. Improving the quality can be done by buying better soundcard, better guitar, better amp, microphone, lenses, camera, lights... But anyone have a closed budget, doesn't matter if it's 250, 2.500 or 25.000. All the money you put into your computer it's money that you could actually use to get better sound or image quality.
I never said MacBook are bad they're really heavy, for nature photography it's extremely stupid, but not bad I just don't like the OS and if your praying for the OS not the battery life.... I don't think it's the best investment to aim bigger, clear sound on recording or listening, more aperture in the lenses, higher frame video, better dynamic rage or more power full lights. That's where I aim when I invest money, also buying a laptop if your work while always at home... You pay more for less power and less future proved machine. Battery doesn't come free.

The app ecosystem is the reason why everyone from engineer to game devs to architects etc. all use windows lol.

I use windows for my gaming PC only and man it just feels like constant troubleshooting. Once about every 2 months or so, my displays will randomly stop working and I have to troubleshoot it all over again, sometimes taking hours. That, and the fact that you'll have the WEIRDEST problems with windows, it's like how every Mario 64 copy is different, every copy of Windows is also. Insanely annoying to use in my experience.

The fact you have to de-bloat Windows because Microsoft needs to push ads and adware inside of their payed software is ridiculous. Edge is an abomination and they still insist on you using it by just resetting your browser preferences after some updates... you should keep using it for a couple months. You'll see how quickly it starts to feel sluggish and slow. Windows really is world class at bit rotting. Having bought a MacBook as a Linux user I sorely missed a tiling window manager, but quickly found a couple nice ones. Now I have great tiling on Mac. Arguably better tiling than Windows at that point.

Comparing the Apple Silicon SOC, even M2 Max, to a chip like the 4070 is like comparing the 2 liter Turbo engine in a Golf GTI to the supercharged V8 in a CT5-V. Of course the larger engine is going to be much, much more powerful. It also burns WAAAAY more fuel. Apple Silicon is great for on the go performance while on battery life because it won’t drain your battery in an hour, or overheat your battery while doing demanding tasks.

But no Airdrop and no Timemachine - So no windows for me ;-) - But very good video !!!

We Windows users are having a civil war regarding which UX is best UX across Windows 7, 10, and 11 over multiple features in the OS.

Very objective and quite knowledgeable in the hardware department, i think i misjudged you from some time ago because usually, most Apple devices owners are not on this level.

Ctt debloader can break a lot of functionality in the system in regards to the start menu and the UWP apps if for example you set services to manual.
It's a good tool but i can't recommend it to anyone use it on their own machine.
Don't ask me how i know i've used it many many times in Virtual machines and in more than 400 laptops so far...

Windows desktop management has only one giant flaw: when you switch between desktops and have multiple sceens, every desktop moves at once on every screen, you cant just move desktops on one screen like on mac. I used to be working on Windows every day and this always bugged me.

I switched from Windows to Mac after Windows 10 and never looked back.

What you talking about ?? My Mac Pro 2010 with boot camp is setup only to play games. I don’t even have bloat ware on my computer

BTW search is still shit, I use Power Toys Run utility by Microsoft. SO so much better
