At the end of the day his land would of been destroyed with or without his sons rampage those demons were killing more and more people by making a deal with the demons he destroyed his own lands how ironic.

Dang revisiting this makes me realize how well written this story was

I know this is supposed to be like some sort of poetic justice but I honestly wish he would have carved him to pieces right there

Only at the end did he finally realize what he truly gave up that day, and what it truly cost him.

I was so proud of hyakkimaru here 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😍

I think this the best ending for the father, i.e to let him live in regret, pain and realise his mistake. To let him realise that if only he waited few years, if only he was not greedy and gave his first son a chance. Killing him could have made him actually a demon because he had so much hate till the last moment before he thought he was dead but when his son spared him telling him to live on as a human, he realised his son was completely at peace within himself, there was no anger, no revenge but something so great that even demons coveted.
It was always mentioned that Hyakkimaru could either become complete demon or someone who can reach enlightenment and become a great human. I am glad he decided to choose to become the best possible human one can ever be.

It’s sad how he never considered Hyakkimaru as his son to the end, he only think of Tahumaru as his son!!
I really dispise this family, poor Hyakkimaru...

What's funny is that his father basically got what he wanted in the end. The land rid of plague and famine, and the people far more prosperous. I also like to think that with the demons gone, his father's mind is back to before he made the deal and that he truely regrets what he did.

Should've killed him kinda feels wrong not to.

At least Hyakkimaru and father ended this without bad blood. It’s pleasing for the boy to resort to his conscience.
