Is there a diesel option ?
ОтветитьNever understood the obsession with SUVs. That said, I hired one of these for a week and was very impressed. Lane keeping assist is intensely annoying but no worse than others I've experienced (SEAT).
ОтветитьThe only problem with the Kamiq is the Scala. If you dont get the high driving position of an SUV why not just buy the hatchback version which even has a slightly bigger boot.
Ответитьid say 7s is better for a 4 family 😊
ОтветитьU
Ответить❤
ОтветитьUnfortunately the local SKODA dealer jacked prices up by 50% throughout its range, decreased engine sizes and removed features in the last year to take advantage of Australians during the covid shortages. There are a number of nicer small SUVs for better prices.
Too bad greed will destroy what was a decent niece brand
Just ordered the Kamiq 1.5 SE Drive dsg in metallic grey, loved the car on the test drive it felt so refined, downside is that I have to wait 52 weeks for delivery (manual is just 10 weeks), nevertheless in my opinion its better than the VW and SEAT equivalent by a wide margin, so worth the wait.
ОтветитьCompletely missed the Pug 2008 in this line up then? Mokka? Pug has a bigger boot as well.
ОтветитьReviewing an se 110 kamiq but has extras on it which no1 will get like the big screen etc. If you want them extras jus get the SEL.
ОтветитьI had one as as a hire car when I had an accident and I was genuinely shocked how quick this was for a 1 litre
ОтветитьHate the fact they fitted the 95 with five speed gearbox clearly to stop people buying it
ОтветитьLooking into one to replace my fiesta, its a toss up between the puma and this,I can get one with nearly the same spec as the puma for between £2000 and £3000 less
ОтветитьThe Kamiq is probably the best of VW groups Small SUVs, other than the Taigo
ОтветитьQuestion... Would a person who is 6 ft 4 be able to sit in the front seats.
ОтветитьSkoda does it again with those extra little touches. A fold out funnel makes much sense.
I have an older Octavia 1.4 and it’s a great car. Regular 50 plus mpg and 60’s on the motorway.
I may buy one of these next.
Hard to believe this CO2 stupidity managed to get into regular folk car reviews.
ОтветитьCRAPPY HANDBRAKE AND ITS STILL A SAD SKODA
ОтветитьVery re iew I see ov yours says its the best god sake puma was best suv last video wot was made after this video
ОтветитьI have seen some reviews of this car and you were the one who said what I was thinking, this is not a SUV it’s a normal sized family car, I do r know why the brand names this model as a SUV but ok…
ОтветитьNo badge snobbery on What Car unlike that lot on Carbuyer brilliant reviews.
ОтветитьWe love ours ( we got one of the first in Australia) and it’s a near perfect car ( a minor exception being a lane keeping assistant being too sensitive) . Skoda is (IMO) such an underrated manufacturer. Skoda is unfortunately not very well known here - which is a real shame . Our Kamiq is quiet, economical and surprisingly fast. Compared to the VW T-Cross the Kamiq with the same specification the Skoda is significantly cheaper. Great informative review.
ОтветитьWhat I like about these reviews is you’re not trying to impress your personality on your viewers unlike another popular online car reviewer I could mention.
ОтветитьIs its available in Canada ontario....,or In INDIA
ОтветитьI really like my Kamiq and its overall talent surprised me - especially with how meh a lot of other small SUVs are. It's also far better than both the T-Cross and T-Roc for quality.
ОтветитьGot one ordered in a pretty good trim with the 1,5L TSI engine :D And in the color that became avaiable when Fabia 4th gen entered the market- Phoenix Orange. Its a brand new option for Kamiq, only available for cars made after 40th week of 2021 I think .. Not sure about UK though.
ОтветитьMy wife has just got rid of her Kamiq, the heating controls on the large screen is dangerous as you have to take your eyes off the road and far too complicated. Big disappointment.
Ответить👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьFinally the first reviewer that has said the 1.0 95 is all you need.
We were pondering which engine to get but opted for the 1.0 95 5 speed in SE trim.
The first 1,000 miles while it was running in the engine was a bit lumpy below 2,000rpm but now everything is freed up I can honestly say why you would ever need more than 95bhp in a Kamiq, it pulls great, the 5 gears are spaced perfectly for the torque and power band and the suspension is not suited for the car to be hooned around.
We got a great deal on our car at £16,867 (had to wait 6 months) but I often have a smug look on my face at other Kamiq owners who have thrown money at their Kamiq when it's really not required.
It doesn't seem like a SUV.
Ответить£21,000 for an ice scraper and a brolly !! Where do I sign??
ОтветитьNo high driving position and no digital driver display makes this car a no-go for me.
ОтветитьI enjoyed watching the Video Review 😄. The Kamiq Is already on sale In the UK
ОтветитьGreat review! I've had my Monte Carlo for a couple of months now, and I can vouch for the strength of the mid-range 1.0 115 engine. It's strong, smooth and incredibly quiet... This trim comes with the digital dials/display as standard, but I do wish that I'd added the variable boot floor, winter pack and a reversing camera - just as this review suggests. They'd have just completed the package. 👌🏼
ОтветитьYou state that the boot size at 400 litres is the largest in the class bar the rather ugly Puma. Wrong. The Nissan Juke has 422 litres. Indeed I've noticed that despite giving the new Juke a good review, What Car (and all the other car magazine reviewers) remains biased in favour of German cars (and their derivatives like this Skoda) no matter what. You push the rivals to this as being the Puma and the T-Roc only mentioning the Juke at the start of the review then conveniently ignoring it thereafter. So you can also conclude by saying that the Skoda has the nicest interior, again ignoring the fact that the Juke's interior is much more premium. I have no links to Nissan, but it remains a British car designed and built in Britain which like many others is pushed aside by the German brigade at every opportunity in your reviews. This Skoda isn't even new and you seem to justify reviewing it again (it's not a new model after all) just because the infotainment system has had a mild upgrade - something which ought to be a downloadable option on the previous models but probably isn't. I'm guessing there. Love the bit where you catch the ice scrapper though. Now how about giving the British motor industry a little boost next ehh?
ОтветитьI get 54mpg on long motorway trips, and never feel the need for any more power (mine's the 115hp). Great car.
ОтветитьGreat, interesting well presented video. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhat a weird specification on test. Awful (optional) alloys, manual gearbox, manual air conditioning and top spec Columbus Infotainment.
In Australia, our base 85TSI Kamiq comes standard with active cockpit, electric tail gate, DSG, auto climate control, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, mid-tear infotainment and 18" alloys for the equivalent of 15,000 ($28,000) including taxes. The UK clearly got screwed. I love my top-spec Monte Carlo, I would recommend it to anyone. But I can understand how people wouldn't find the Kamiq visually appealing when specified like this.
My 1985 Honda Civic had an under-seat storage tray as standard, my parents' 1990-something Volvo had a parking ticket clip in the windscreen, so neither of those features on this car is particularly "clever". Why can't the heated windscreen be ordered on its own instead of only with the £700 climate pack? Ford fit them as standard to almost all of their cars, and it is a vital safety feature in autumn/winter for UK cars
ОтветитьIsn't it long overdue that What Car should use Newton-Metres for torque? I have no idea what the lb-ft values mean.
ОтветитьDid you do the ice scraper catch in one take? :D
ОтветитьI do wish you had mentioned in the header or early in the video that this is a fossil not interested in fossils any more cheers
Ответитьsir, in addition to your review. Mentioning prices for upgrades was very useful.
ОтветитьJust over a year owning a 1.5 SEL DSG. I like everything about it except the seats. Too low as he mentioned and not particularly comfortable. The centre bulkhead digs into my left leg most of the time. And I really miss the variflex rear seats that my Yeti had. The Yeti was a lot more “clever” in its use of space in a car with similar overall dimensions to the Kamiq. I’ll be getting a Karoq next time
ОтветитьSomething is wrong and apsurd with those prices in UK. Kamiq starts at 13500 euros ( about 11000 pounds) in many countries in EU. Is there some new tax for pruducts since you leave EU or dealers have extreme markups on new cars !?
ОтветитьHaving checked out the car in the showroom, this is a great review. Considering the size of the vehicle, it is surprisingly practical and spacious.
ОтветитьI am leasing one with the more powerful one litre engine and the only option is the adjustable boot floor - neat and simple and should be standard. 10000 miles at £201 a month over three years and I like the basic blue colour. Practical, economical, comfortable and a decent drive - objectively a great car to own. Wish they did a mild hybrid version like the Puma which was another car I was looking at but was just too expensive.
ОтветитьThis is not an SUV - I've seen one and it's no bigger than a medium sized estate car just slightly taller.
You're going to get a shock at how small it is.
Like the way you guys alway suggest the "sweet option" in the model range. Great for potential buyers
