This may seem like simple knowledge but for someone who has never been camping it is very useful. Thank you for the video!
Ответить...my 13 yr old calls it, "pretending to be homeless!"😂😂😂
ОтветитьI've never ever been camping before. I went to an 'outdoor' type shop today and was beyond overwhelmed. I left with nothing as just didn't know where to start. Being new and skint, I want to start with the very basics incase it's not something we like or get the opportunity to do often. I don't want to spend a fortune or buy anything unnecessary.
This video has been invaluable. Thank you ❤
I disagree with how you set up the tarp. You want to fold in the corrners just under the tent edges so the water (if it rains) roll off and onto the ground instead of pooling in between the tarp and the tent
ОтветитьFantastic video. I have two questions though we don’t have a box store near me but I do have a Walmart is that OK? I mean Walmart sells boxes it’s probably OK and what if I need coffee before I make coffee😂
ОтветитьCamping isn't just a pastime; it's a way to rediscover the wonders of the world and your own sense of wonder.
ОтветитьI’m a complete beginner - very helpful 🇿🇦
ОтветитьWhat is the best commonly known wood to use for a campfire? Soft wood burns fast with lots of flame and sparks. Hard wood burns slow with little flame. Any input in this regard?
ОтветитьGoing tent camping for the first time in a month but still have two big questions:
What do you do with the fire overnight?
How do you work the stove?
Thank you for the great video!
I've never went camping on my own before. This is a great video just to get the big picture of camping really. Thanks!
ОтветитьI never camped as a kid and I always wanted to do it. I never knew how. I am now studying up on it and hope to finally go camping!
ОтветитьThis guy: Alright, next you want to blow up your air mattress
Me: Fire in the hole!
Thank you for the basics of camping.
This is a refresher list for me which I find very helpful. 😁👍
Where did you get the wood from?
ОтветитьI have a couple of suggestions for a first timer: Do you check the perimeters for animal activities that could have tracking in the area. Keep your boots inside the tent while the colder night will form in, and insects don't crawl in to live in
ОтветитьIf you're going to bring all that s*** then why bother going camping in the first place?? Sometimes it adds to the experience to be a little bit uncomfortable.
Ответить😭😭😭 The way I am so panicked to do this by myself. This was so good!!! My only question is with the fire, i thought you had to dig a hole, but you just used the ring. How does this work?
ОтветитьCool to know as I'm also in northern AL. Thx for the information man
ОтветитьI'm going camping by myself for the first time next weekend. Any reminders or tips on being safe on my solo trip? Thank you for making a great video check list. 😊
ОтветитьNever camped in a tent, but my idea, is once spot found, rake smooth , apply safe bug repellant, then rubber mats, tent, rubber mats inside tent, area rugs then air mattress
Maybe a 10x10 pop up over regular tent to keep in shade sun/rainif none close by
Main thing I would add is bring a simple first aid kit, change of warm clothes and a rain coat, and a map just to be safe. These things are usually pretty cheap but a good idea.
ОтветитьA tip for new campers in the summer. If you live in the south, forget a sleeping bag. Bring an air mattress and sleep under just a bed sheet. Anything thicker than a bed sheet and you're going to wake up feeling like your brain got cooked
ОтветитьBug spray!!!
ОтветитьAs someone who will go camping for the first time since I was kid (I'm 42 now) this is very helpful. My nephew requested that we all go camping on his birthday.
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьI’m not using this for camping. Soon I’m gonna be gone and no one will ever hear from me again.
ОтветитьNice video. Have a question. If you have to go , where do you go? We have a huge camp sites state park. I want to be out not near the cabins and ranger station. How does that work?
ОтветитьI appreciate this, I've never been camping and was looking for novice videos.
Ответитьsometing that you miss to talk about...
do not go into the real wild too deep if you still really an total amature..
it will couse you real big problem
Id bring a first aid kid. you never know...
ОтветитьSimpler for me, i QIIT ingesting any n all meats/ seafood
ОтветитьGreat video!! Thanks for telling it like it is. No BS. Refreshing!! I’m taking my kids camping this summer. We are gonna hit some campgrounds and then maybe get a little wild and try camping off the beaten path. I haven’t gone camping in a long time and all the other videos included so much BS that I felt was unnecessary. Thanks for bringing me back to reality!
ОтветитьDpnt wprry about comfort. Camp over thick grass where the vegetation provides its own comfortable down, also, the more uncomfortable the sleep. The easier yoyr instincts will tick to awake to danger
ОтветитьThis is great and all, truly. But when I think of camping I think of how they did it back in the 30s-50s you didn't bring a camp stove no big mattresses or skillets, I mean genuine off the beatin path camping, build a fire ring out of stones cook everything over the fire no vehicles nearby, any good videos for a guide like that?
ОтветитьStraight to the point video . Subscribed 😊
ОтветитьIve been camping before and I am a bit embarrassed to finally take my 7 year old camping for the 1st time tmrw. Granted its in our backyard but we have woods so we will be in the forest kinda. We lived in the LA previously where ya had to go into the mountains etc and now in TN we have it in our backyard. With my work and his school schedule we never had the chance and it hasnt came up but I said damnit im taking him now that he's outta school.
Eventually plan to actually go to a campsite so this is sorta a "gear check" for me. I know he's excited and I want him to have fun an remember this..
We are doing just an overnight cuz i have work the next day in the afternoon, I like your coleman stove I have the white gas version I got for $15 on offerup that was in really good condition. I also have another cheap 2 burner that runs of propane bottle. I don't think we are gona do breakfast but im gona take a small 12 can cooler for some hot dogs and a few drinks and some smores.. thanks for the video.
Very relaxing and calming. I'll be glad if you come to my camping channel and guess what I used for cooking. Cheers!
ОтветитьWhat about the toilet?
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I learned a lot. I have a coleman stove but, have the camping fuel type is the propane better?
ОтветитьI ABSOLUTELY LOOOOVED THIS VIDEO I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT NOW !!! I smiled at the breaskfast ❤ simple and easy just the way i like it ! Thank you soooo much for this man !! 😊
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьMy girlfriend want to go camping... I haven't been in years. This saved my ass lol
ОтветитьFantastic beginners guide! Just wanted to add, don't leave your food or food garbage sitting out, jt can attract animals... even bears 😱😱😱
ОтветитьWool blanket for top of airbed, underneath you. The ground leeches body warmth.
ОтветитьTest your gear before you go.
ОтветитьFamily camping..
Doormat of some kind. Eg old towel, car mat, home doormat, whatever.
Undercover entry area where you can sit and remove shoes and wet jackets etc.
The supermarket cool bags with a little kitty litter at the bottom are useful for outdoor shoe storage free from rain, morning dew and insects /snakes etc. They pack down small for transport.
Having a place to hang outdoor layers out of rain/dew and away from insects etc is handy.
A small dustpan and broom plus a regular indoor broom for a big tent, to sweep the tent inside is useful.
The sleeping system is the key to a fun experience.
The ground leeches warmth, so those black foam squares are handy, and help protect the bottom of the tent if you lay them under the tent floor. Ensure they are not bigger than tent floor to avoid water issues. (think bathtub).😅
On top of ant airbed, under the bottom sheet.. Add a wool underlay. You can thank me later. A wool blanket is OK as an alternative.
Remember children - nighttime toilet run, so have a plan and good lighting such as headlamps. Byo toilet paper.
Pool noodles on the guide ropes can help prevent tripping.
Reflective guideropes are also handy.
Pack basic first aid/bobo kit... Eg: sunscreen, bandaid, tea tree cream (for bug bites or cuts and scratches etc) bug repellent, lip balm, etc.
Have 'camp shoes' - easy slip ons for 3am toilet runs etc.
Tent and airbed repair kit (tenacious tape and alcohol wipes for example).
Zip ties.
Check your tent pegs, are they the best type for the area you are camping? (sand pegs for beach or outback are different to dirt pegs).
Cook double batches of favourite meals in the lead up... It doesn't use much extra time and you can freeze the left over meal for a quick, healthy, heat and eat family dinner.
Transport frozen, with frozen drinks to make the most of space.
Set up an easy wash station. Soap, large ice cream container or similar as a 'sink' and a 10 litre boxed water. (you can save the plastic boxes and refill for use each camping trip.) hand towels.
Insulation for camp chairs helps avoid night aches. A blanket underneath you on the chair for example.
Have a drinks station (cooler bag with drinks for the kids to grab for example. A cup each, named and colour coded is handy.) and a hot drinks kit.. Don't forget the teaspoons.
Hot chocolate, milo, marshmallows.
Premake biscuit dough and freeze, ready to cut and cook on a stick or in a fry pan or whatever.
Premix some dry ingredients for damper. Flour by itself will work with water or you can add chives and grated cheese or cinnamon sugar or whatever.
( both are memory creation entertainment.)
Apple or pear, stick, campfire. 💖
Foil and potatoes in coals.
Lady Flo's famous pumpkin scones... Recipe online... Premix dry ingredients. Bake pumpkin whole in coals (pierce with a fork).
Serve with 'homemade butter' (get kids to shake cream until it becomes butter, instructions online) and jam.
Thanks for these great tips!
ОтветитьTip: Buy a quality blow up pool floaty to use as a mattress. A cement Patch Kit might be something to invest in also. Might want to test it before you go camping to make sure it doesn't go flat in less than 15 hours. Or you might have to blow it up again in the middle of the night if air is making it through the seams. Plus most of them come with a pillow you can blow up. Designed to keep your head elevated in the water. It'll work just as good on land. It would be good option if you have a lot of kids. They'll all can have a personal mattress without breaking the bank.
Ответить😁This gives me confidence to do some camping. Now I just need to buy every thing seen in this video and I will be ready. 😆
ОтветитьGoing on my first camping trip, soon thank you for the tips. Great video!
