I have been learning a lot from a mix of serj's vocals and his opera technique, rnb artists like anderson paak and sir, as well as less conventional singers like anthony green from circa survive. I find that imitating a wide variety of artists as closely as possibly really gives you a feel for the true possibilities that your own voice can achieve. I spend a lot of time studying the mechanics of the body and how it creates sound. It's kind of addicting once you start to understand the textural qualities of the human voice. As someone who is also fascinated by björk lately, I am eager to listen to her Medúlla album

My singing voice isn't that different from Stern's singing voice back then so I don't have problems with most of these parts. However the very high pitched part at the beginning of the last part in "Suggestion" is very very high and also, in my opinion, one of the hardest or if not the hardest moment to hit is the scream at the end of "Question".

You underestimate the work of the mixing engineer. They do insane stuff with a lot of parts, be it guitar, vocals or other. I mean even if you can't say for sure, there's always a possibility that the most insane parts were deliberately worked on, tuned a little, mixed, harmonized a tad. Like for instance, Over the Love- Florence and the Machine, I saw only one live recording, it is insane singing, but she just can't sing like in the original recording. But I guess this is the charm and difficulty of being an artist, you work hard for those miracles when you somehow exceed yourself, and than you work and work again, hoping for the better ...
