Hey Erich. I just finished your finger picking lessons. It was very informative. Thanks for the help.

One of the difficulties I have with finger picking is my index finger on the left hand has been damaged and is arthritic. That makes it very difficult to make certain chords. I can play most melodies if I have the music available. I could probably learn to play left handed, but it might take more energy than it's worth. 😂

When you learn finger-picking, use all PIMA fingers, don't cheat. It feels awkward at the start, but not for long & it is very hard to get out of a cheating pattern and it hinders you in the long run.

I learned the hard way because at the start I did cheat as a kid.

FINALLY someone teaching FOUR FINGER technique! I am legally blind and play Blues and Country (I know. Get in line). Although in some cases you should use less fingers for efficiency and avoid getting a little finger-tied, using four fingers allows you to concentrate on fretting BECAUSE your picking fingers naturally connect with their assigned strings.

Trust me. It’s one less damn thing for me to struggle to see. 😎

I understand trying to explain Pima , but I am just confused because you didn't show anything in regards to picking. Except mention another video to watch. For any interested persons: The P in PIMA is for pollicis which is the medical term referring to the thumb. I’m not sure how the A refers to the ring finger other than anniversary as our guitar sage has stated.
