I always wondered why don't they just make the darn heatsink larger and cut the bullcrap about fans that spin and don't spin.

My sons Dell T3500 w/ Win10 keeps overheating and shutting off. Nvidia card driver level doesn't seem to have an option to disable overheat shutoff, nor do I want to completely fry the card. Any tips on cooling things down? Or an option for a very cheap gpu that atleast won't overheat and shutoff mid game? He's only 8 and it's shutting down on Roblox, so nothing advanced with crazy graphics

Hello I have a problem with my gpu, a few days later I realized that the temperatures have risen 10-15 degrees in some games, I have already done maintenance to the pc to see if it was the accumulation of dust but nothing, the gpu has the updated drives, install two antiviruses and nothing. I wanted to know if someone else had this problem because literally this problem started to happen to me from one day to the next. (the gpu has undervoltage and nothing, it reaches 76 degrees in some games)

This is, in fact, much of the reason why I prefer EVGA, even to very well established, consistently good manufacturers such as ASUS. I'm not saying that they are better.

EVGA has impeccable support, that'll gladly spend extended amounts of time troubleshooting a dead GPU, well after its warranty has ended. They are the sort of guys that sell you a 660 ti, which then cooks itself in just a few months, only to be a good friend, and upgrade you. But not just to the new 700 series. No, they're giving you a 770 instead of a 660 ti. Basically equivalent of replacing a 660 ti with a 680 in terms of performance. Hats off to good customer support! That's the stuff that'll keep me coming back. A broken chip is forgivable. Even the largest manufacturers and corporations makes mistakes and faulty products. The difference lies in how they handle such situations.

I bought a 2060 super from Evga 1½ years ago. Ultra Gaming or something, don't really remember that well. I just remember I wanted a 3 fan cooler for low rpm, low noise since I have the case for it, but couldn't get the one I wanted, so I had to settle with a twin fan design, with weird little bumps on the fan. Oh well, at least it's a million times better than a single fan. Been running solid so far, runs stable in games at 2085mhz at stock voltages, way more than I could've hoped for. At first I thought it was a terrible deal, but it has since come to my attention that this basically performs in line with a non ti 1080, and has rtx thrown on top, and only drawing at most 200w doing so.

I thought I had made a poor choice, not going for a 1660 ti. Man did that ever turn out to be the right choice, considering how impossible to obtain these things have come be.

I have a GTX 1050 2GB graphics card, it works perfectly fine for daily gaming and normal use. The card is maintained regularly. However, when I tried to run the Furmark stress test, the card would crash. Other than that, it has no problem. Should I trust Furmark that my card is starting to fail? (That it crashed everytime I run Furmark).

Why not just put fan on the backplate side similar to the other side?

Ответить
@Magnulus76
@Magnulus76 - 14.06.2022 10:24

They need to put heatsinks on the backplate, or integrate them into the design themselves, if they expect them to help cooling to a significant degree. That means more surface area.

Personally, I think the simplest thing to do is buy more high efficiency cards with blower fans.

Hey Linus, if you're listening. We need a new video, save your old graphics card by replacing shitty oem fans with noctua or bequiet!. With the help of 3d printing, just throw the shroud with fans in the garbo and put whatever you want on top. My 1080 from Zotac got a new life with some be quiet fans. I am Absolutely not upgrading, nvidia.

I spent a lot of extra money to improve my game (About $ 600). I bought a LG Ultra Gear 165hz 1440P open box monitor for $ 165.00. Looked like new. Then I bought a AMD Radeon 6700 XT which has a hot junction temperature reaching 110c right out of box. Not good. So I started off running 1440p and 165hz full throttle. I started seeing the 110c junction temperatures with 150 - 250 FPS. Truth is that you can't really see a difference in FPS after 60 - 70 FPS. So I asked why run the card fast. I tuned the card down to 60 - 125 FPS and it cooled down the card junction temperature to 60 - 80C which I like a lot better. Also, I set the graphics card back to 1080p with the 1440p monitor. If you would like better graphics picture than you usually get with the 1080p monitor, step up to the 1440p monitor first and try it before spending $ 400 + on a graphics card. I think you will be impressed and save yourself some money. Had I known this, I would have stuck with the Asus 1660 Super OC Graphics card I had and saved myself $ 480.00. As it is in Battlefield 2042, I get 80 - 110 FPS, and it is plenty good. And the 1080p picture on a 1440p monitor looks better without overdriving the graphics card. Look at it like this. If you bought a Corvette, would you drive it at max speed everyday. Car wouldn't last very long. Neither would your graphics card. I expect a good 3 - 5 years out of my graphics card, and running it slower, and cooler will extend the life. I attest to the fact the LG Ultra Gear monitor is a nice monitor. Note after experimenting, I also set the fan profiles in bios based on CPU temperatures. I have one of the quietest computers on the planet, even a full gaming.
