Somalia has no right over Somaliland. Somaliland got her independence on the 26th of june 1960 before Somalia existence. Therefore its not succeeding secondly the act was never ratified as stated by the African union fact finding mission on Somaliland in 2005 Therefore Somalia occupied Somaliland illegally since 1961 and it has no legal argument Somalia will never take Ethiopia or Somaliland to court because it breaks international law for intellectuals u know nothing about the region another fun fact Somaliland was an independent country before Nigeria Uganda kenya Djibouti and many more when Somaliland got its independence it freed Mogadishu from the Italians which is why Mogadishu has no independence papers 97% of Somaliland voted against the union and it was never legal or ratified Mogadishu in return took our recognition papers and applied for a un seat using our paperwork its not their seat Mogadishu then committed the isaaq genocide desperately clinging on to independence. Away from emotions and irresponsible comments, Ethiopia to my understanding went this road choosing the lesser evil. Looking its ever-growing population, economic challenges and security issues plus geographical sensitivity of the region. Yet, it's worth to note that the ET PM have tried peaceful communication with all neighbouring countries' leaders and Somaliland has signed similar agreements with other nations (why is Ethiopia's different now?). Also, remember that once Somaliland was internationally recognised independent country and have now their own currency, passport, national flag, military etc. Ethiopian troops have paid their lives with other African brothers for Somalia's peace and stability but when it sought peaceful access to port SOME parties are trying to portrait the issue different, shame!
I believe Ethiopia will continue to provide its support to the region and whole Africa while peacefully protecting its own national interest.
