Why Ovilee May Says G4 Was Doomed From the Start

G4 reboot should have just been Ovilee and 1 or 2 other hosts. It should not have cared about being "in." It needed to be less game-centric and more crazy shenanigans. Game reviews are now the realm of small content creators (not just games but movies, TV shows, etc.) The G4 reboot should just have a reincarnation of Pereira and Munn chemistry. And I think they had half of that with Ovilee May.

Ovilee was criminally underutilized at the new G4. She had the on screen experience and comedic timing for AOTS that many of the other hosts didn’t have.

Ovilee and Will were definitely the stand-outs of the G4 relaunch. The problem with G4 was there was a lot of bad skits but 0 game play. They should have had way more gameplay based programming. People go to twitch for gameplay!

It wasn't the same show that we grew up watching.

Attack of the Show, Name your Price and Hey Donna! were the shows I looked out for every week. I loved Austin Show and Will Neff on G4.

Ovilee was my favorite part of the new G4.

Grew up watching G4 and TechTV, would come home from school and catch X-Play every single day. It was the one time I felt like TV was tuned just for me, and it was so kickass to see these games I wanted to play on TV. I wanted the reboot to work so well, because G4 was ahead of it's time. And now these people like Olivee and the others have been burned, while Sessler, Pererra and the others are now laughing stocks. Sometimes, deader is better, but it's such a shame it crashed so hard.

G4 was Nerd/ Gamer/ Counter culture from a different generation that inspired a generation. That generation went and created their own gaming content after the original G4 went off the air. The G4 reincarnation was a bad idea. Attacking your viewers and fans with divisive nonsense doesn't help either. To anyone out there that wants to create their own gaming content, I say do it! Sharing those experiences and your knowledge is great! Just concentrate on success and the rest will follow.

I love Ovilee and have enjoyed watching her grow from the first few lcs interviews into the person she is today.. However I actively disliked or was indifferent on most of the others involved with the g4 reboot. Either way glad she's doing well and had the opportunity to learn more about production.. No doubt those skills will serve her well going forward. This was a fun interview to watch, keep it up!
