And some people that build their first pc for the first, time use the old so called windows hdd, to build it, then install windows and get errors, because of the old efi/uefi part, for them just use the clear disk option using diskpart and just install windows when it's done.
ОтветитьCould not open the BCD template store
ОтветитьAre these steps valid under UEFI? Very curious what happens if you do bootrec /fixmbr when there is no master boot record.
ОтветитьEres el puto amo. mil gracias.
Ответитьcan it work in efi
ОтветитьQUESTION: Normally, on all my other computers with Windows 10, there are three partitions. One says "System" and it is a "Primary" with no drive letter. The other says "Windows" and is Drive Letter C and is a "Primary." The other says "Healthy Recovery Partition" and has no "drive letter" and is not "Primary." However, I recently used an recover drive to reinstall Windows 10. Now, the third drive says "Windows RE Tools" and has a "Drive Letter" and says it is "Primary." Is this good or bad?" What should be done to fix this?
ОтветитьI followed right along until the command 'bootrec /fixboot', where I got a response of "Access is denied". Windows still broken.
ОтветитьI decided to clone my hard drive to a external usb disk (for testing/learning how to restore a corrupt drive), and I was able to boot from the cloned windows drive. I decided to remove the windows reserved partition to see if I can recover it. When I reboot, my laptop fails from internal disk.. i then use Hirens boot cd to fix it.. I have experienced this many times when changing the *external disk*, somehow after intentionally corrupting an *external drive that I was able boot windows successfully previously.. it impacts the boot up of the internal (*untouched) disk.. any reasons why? Yes I am sure I am not changing/corrupting the internal windows partition.. doing my head in and why this is happening. Thanks
Ответитьwhat needs doing when it shows everything as you had it, but has access denied when doing bootrec /fixboot?
ОтветитьThanks man, best tutorial out there.
ОтветитьHow to do this with a write protected m.2 drive?
ОтветитьWhat about if i delete boot file in windows partition ? from where can i copy it ?
ОтветитьAnother Windows installation saved 😅; Thank you for the complete guide. 🙌
ОтветитьHow would I do this if the boot partition is on another drive then where the main windows folder is ?
ОтветитьWhen i type format partition, it tells me that there is no volume selected
Ответитьفوق راسي يا حرس
ОтветитьThis video along with the useful comments are phenomenal
ОтветитьI love you!
I gotta add something: if you're using a USB drive with Windows and after "bootrec /rebuildbcd" you get "The requested system device cannot be found" error - make sure to try 2.0 usb ports. I turned off the PC, switched to usb 2.0 port and it worked like charm
Brooo where to get a windows installation for windows 7?????
HELP
You really saved my life
Ответитьdoes this work for windows 7
Ответитьstill get element not found at bootrec /fixboot

ОтветитьI shrink the system reserved to 50mb and couldn’t shrink anymore and when I started my pc, it gave me a black screen but all is good now thanks for your help on this video and now my pc is running now but it is slow, any help on how I can speed up my Asus laptop?
ОтветитьWhen i get to 'bootrec /fixboot' i get 'access is denied'.....why would this be?

ОтветитьOmg! It worked, thank you so much 🙏
Ответитьwhat do i do my system reserve is not even showing
ОтветитьIs Parted Magic Free
ОтветитьFor whatever reason my system reserve is fat32 not sure how it got that way am now unable to fix the BCD problem I've been having help with is much Appreciated. Thanks Chris
ОтветитьSuccess, thank you
ОтветитьThis just saved my ass....thank you
ОтветитьGreat Video! Sadly these instructions did not work for me. I am getting "Failure when initializing library system volume." when I run the bcdboot c:\Windows /s G: /f ALL Then when I tried Bootrec /fixboot I got "Access is denied" So, my stuff is obviously really jacked. I just bought another SSD and started all over again. The good news is that my old SSD is still accessible and I can get all my files off of there.
ОтветитьLife saver. All I was trying to do was tell windows 10 my system has a uefi drive and things went bad when I made a drive active. So dumb. Is secure boot even worth it. Or windows 11??
ОтветитьLiked and subscribed, thank you sir!
ОтветитьWhat if I deleted the system partition entirely? How do I create and fit it into the existing OS installation partition?
ОтветитьI did everything like on the video and on my end it looks like I am also running a virtual machine, even tho I am not actually doing that.
My power failed and my PC doesn't boot from the SSD anymore, I only have a windows 7 CD and no other physical windows 10 copy. I installed the windows 7 on my HDD to try and fix the SSD with diskgenious but it doesn't work. Then I tried to upgrade to w10 on the HDD but I get error 800something and basically automatic update finder doesn't work(I tried like 7 methods Ranging from running everything as admin to doing some sketchy CMD stuff) nothing works, I can't fix my SSD and I can't upgrade back to w10. I am honestly at the wits end and I am thinking about just buying an entirely new disc and w10 copy but I'd rather avoid wasteful spending of money.
I'll also add that the SSD appears to be working correctly outside of being able to boot. It is detected on the computer, I can save and read files off it, just can't boot. And the fucking issue that I can't upgrade to w10 on HDD is Also driving me crazy.
Honestly I don't even know what I am expecting writing this, just wanted to vent that I wasted 7 hours of my life and achieved 0 progress.
I did bootrec /fixboot
Access is denied
What does this mean???
Bootrec /fixboot it says element not found
What should I do ?
4 years later and you still saved my life!! THANK YOU!
ОтветитьThanks a lot Vateran.
I knew your tutorial would fix it for me.
I Would suggest to add a step for the command in diskpart , List volume as you have system in VM while people have physical machine and they have different partition so it must need to identify partition. So using a command list volume can identify and the volume for boot partition which needs to format to make a boot partition
ОтветитьExcellent solutions and worked for me on 2 pc. It saves lot of time without reinstalling OS. Great help and appreciate your effort for making this video. Thanks again
ОтветитьThank you sooooooo much dude!!! You saved my dual boot with Ubuntu. Windows 10 to 11 update messed up the boot files and this was the only solution that worked. THANKS
ОтветитьThis video helped me with a boot issue even now! Thanks.
ОтветитьHow fix GPT ?
ОтветитьHey Chris, let's say I have 2 drives which both have Windows installed. Now, when I had to reset one of the OS it took down the boot of the other OS'es boot record. How do I fix it?
