That is so terrible so happy you found the right doctor. I just said that to my family fight to get answers if you are pushed aside. Today we have to be our own doctors. Get well soon.

I’ve been going back and watch older videos, just to try to support the channel. Everyone please consider doing the same, there is a bunch of really great content on this channel! Also everyone should consider seeing a functional medicine doctor, they are hard to get into when you find a good one. My husband goes to a group at the main campus of the Cleveland clinic, literally saved his life. He had severe swelling in joints, diagnoses was a fast onset arthritis, he is actually celiac, allergic to wheat.
Blessings for a peaceful healing.

Miss your funny, helpful, & uplifting vids. Thinking of you. Your vitality and creativity and positivity in the face of your trials and chronic suffering, and your willingness to share to help others is a Godsend. Rest and heal. Shame on docs who hold out as healers but are too arrogant to say, “I don’t know; I cannot figure this out;let me help you find someone who can”. It’s an egregious failing of those in the medical profession who allowed you to suffer for so long. God bless you.

Bless you loving beautiful heart! I am so sorry your journey was so painful, misdiagnosed and traumatizing! No one should go through this or any other medical fiasco! I had very awful periods for years which was finally diagnosed as endometriosis. But I was told it was something they should watch. Finally years later I found a doctor that asked me why I had gone through this agony for so many years and suggested having a hysterectomy. She explained everything In a way that silenced my fears and made it so I could understand what was going on and what I could do about it. Let me tell you that hysterectomy was one of the best things I ever did! I only wish I had done it sooner. Thank you so much for sharing your story...you are very brave and it will help so many women. I just wish I could give you a big warm hug! Here's to a healthy pain free road ahead!

Thank you for bravery in sharing. I too suffered for decades before a doctor listened and addressed the issues. Please don't blame yourself for being on birth control. I was NOT on any type of birth control, and I still ended up with endometriosis and fibroid tumors that laid me low for years. The pain was excruciating. Literally, during 'that time of month' I couldn't stand up straight. Just like you, the endometriosis spread outside of my uterus. The pain and other related issues amped in my later 20's, and I didn't get 'heard' until the age of 46 when a male doctor listened and diagnosed me properly. I had a full hysterecomy, and it
has been a game-changer! I miss your weekly posts, and I pray for your quick and complete recovery. Take time to recover and relax. We will patiently await your return.

At the age of 38 I had a total hysterectomy. My male gynocologist recognized my symptoms as endometriosis. I usually had very easy periods and now I was in excrusiating pain. He recommended a total hysterectomy if I didn't want more children. He told me after surgery that my overies & uterious were one big mass held together by the endometriosis.

Selina, when I had mine, I woke up and sai# I felt like I had a baby. My dr said you kinda did but you don't want to take it home. My uterus weighed 8lb 14oz. This was a vaginal removal and she did an episiotomy. I'm glad your healing .😊

Selena thank you for sharing your story. I had a surgery 4 years ago. They did a hysterectomy and removed a tumor the size of a cantaloupe, it crushed my uterus.
I had excruciating periods from day one. I would change sanitary pads every hour the first 3 days. They lasted about 10 days. Many times I was bed ridden because of the pain.
The doctors never assessed my pain. I was asked by every doctor, except by the one who diagnosed me, do you have a husband. Always during my gynecological exam. Why?
I was diagnosed only because of a ultrasound for a painful questionable umbilical hernia. I didn't have a hernia. I went for 20+ years being called obese told to lose weight and looking like I was 8 months pregnant.
Again thank you for sharing your story.
God bless you. ❤

Thank you for sharing this. You accurately describe all the symptoms and give good insight into how the medical community views women and endometriosis. I've spent almost 2 decades going through this. I'm curious to know how you feel emotionally after the procedure. I am having a 3rd surgery for endometriosis (stage 3 last surgery). I've contemplated having a hysterectomy, but I'm concerned about how it will affect my emotions. Do you have to take hormone replacements?

I can totally relate to what you have gone through. I have suffered from an undiagnosed autoimmune disease my entire life. This disease has severely affected my kidneys, leaving me subjected to multiple rounds of immunosuppressants throughout my life. After my last kidney relapse, my kidney specialist suggested (but could not officially diagnose) that I may have an autoimmune disease like Lupus. I have suffered from every symptom of this disease. After waiting 7 months to see a Rheumatologist, I was still left with no answers. I was just told that I tested negative for Lupus on the blood test and was sent on my way. I was devastated to say the least. After going back to my kidney specialist, he suggested that I see an internal medicine doctor, the same type of physician as who you saw I believe. The first thing she told me was that as many as 25% of people with lupus test negative on the blood test! I have still not been officially diagnosed with anything, but I can say that I have lupus because I have every symptom and the lupus treatments are working for me. I truly believe that most doctors are so afraid to make a mistake that they avoid making decisions altogether, they avoid putting anything in writing that they don’t have absolute proof of. This leaves people feeling helpless and it’s so sad. Because I went to this internal medicine doctor, who was willing to think about what is best for me, I am now being treated for lupus symptoms and it has made my life so much easier. I cannot thank her enough! When multiple doctors tell you that there is nothing wrong with you, you begin to think you’re crazy, that maybe you are somehow manifesting your symptoms it can be very depressing. Doctors need to know that people need answers before we can even begin to heal.

I think it is relevant because if you dont share it people only get part of the story and what bought you to the point of your hysterectomy. I suffered very severe pain in the abdomen and the tops of my thighs for a long time I couldnt stand up straight and was double over with the pain. After I was diagnosed with endermetrosis I had to have a course of diathermy treatment for three days every week. So after the course was finished I went for the hysterectomy and was told not to left any heavy for two/three months and because I was in nursing at the time I was away longer from work to make sure I was well healed before I returned. So be assured you will get stronger and beable to resume your daily life much better if you take the time and have patience which us women don't normally have we want to get on with life straight away.
After a few weeks like you said you do start to feel well again, but what some people dont realise it's not just the outside scar that you see that has ro heal but the muscles inside that have to reheal too. Be strong and of good spirit. Godbless.

I hear you , i went thru almost the same thing. My biggest problem was my dr, he wanted to use me as a lab rat, he had done a surgery on me, and he wanted to see if it was going to be ok with the different things that women can have. So he lied and tried to talk me out of surgery. I had the surgery, i had it everywhere, left me with scar tissue, on bowels etc. He wasnt very nice to me after, but did tell me , i needed it. I was a mess inside. The years and the stuff i went thru, makes me cry. Thank you, D

This was amazing to share. As women, even female Dr's, can make us feel ashamed of the changes our body is going through. I also had to leave an appt in tears because a Dr was quick to dismiss what was going on. Women should never feel ashamed of the changes our bodies are going through. Everyone has a different experience and if you have no one to talk to that is so isolating. Everyone should be aware of endometriosis...it so much more common than Dr's think. It has so many different forms and specialists are usually the only ones that can recognize it on the ultrasound. Talk to your daughters, sisters, mothers friends. No women should ever suffer in silence when there are treatments. Be a voice for yourself, but also a voice for those around you, that are often drained, frightened, tired and ashamed of being made to feel foolish. Selena this was so brave to come forward with your story.
