Does anyone know how much flax seed to add to this?

Your protein % would actually be 14.6%. Your video is great though and some great ideas @survival HT

Can I mix this however I do not want to use Soy and I do not want to use corn. But everything else I can use. Maybe change with black oil sunflower seeds or something else.

Great video; I'm new to having chickens. I have one Delaware ("Brandon") and 2 Rhode Island reds (Tucker & Bongino). They are only 3weeks old--when should I switch to your homemade mixture from the video (Wheat/oats/corn/soy). Thank you! -Woody

Great video and very informative. Do you store it in that bin or is that just for mixing and then you transfer to something more food grade? If so, what do you store in?

Yes! Thank you! No one does this. I have been trying to find a video like this. I thought it was so weird how many people use crumble or pellets. I only use crumble now for the chicks but hate how it just obliterates itself. I am so excited to make my own layer feed instead of using that processed crap.

Thank you for teaching us about this feed. What do you recommend for baby chicks? We don’t have a grinder and will NOT buy commercial feed. We have babies coming mid April so how do you recommend feed for them?

How soon can we transition our chicks over to a mix like this? Ours are 32 days old now, and look amazingly healthy and growing well. We have had them on starter feed, occasional pieces of melon or similar, and some mealworms as a treat.

Marandia, You'll probably never see this comment as it's been 4 years since you posted this amazing video, however, I have a question? I'm a little confused on percentages compared to parts? I sent you an email and hope that you reply. We are in need of help in making our own feed and upping the protein in our current store bought mash. Thanks if you can help. RaNae
