Some people do genetically have fuller upper lips. I think a lot of people do the top lip in order to achieve that pouty look. 👄 looking in the mirror, I noticed that my top and bottom lips are about the same size, unless I’m smiling and then my top lip stretches and gets a bit thinner which is natural. I’ve never had any work done to my lips. It’s just genetics.

I made a comment to my sister one time that I was thinking (just thinking about it - not ready to actually do it) about lip fillers because my upper lip is thinner. A week later she called and told me she had decided to try out the lip filler herself and I asked her to send me a pic. She wouldn't do it. I asked why and she explained that it looks like she has two little smokies (sausages) in her top lip. I've never wanted to do that since.

Get botox on your upper lip if you purse you lips:  
I and my older siblings, who are in their late 60's, don't have lines on our foreheads. After noticing this, I figured out it's because none of us use or crease our foreheads (raising our eyebrows, , squishing our eyebrows together, etc.) as part of our facial expressions (genetics). I, however, have had a lifetime habit of pursing my lips when I think hard, but they don't, and I have noticeable lines around my upper lip and they don't. We all smile a lot, so have expected smile lines around our eyes. Given that, I'd highly recommend botox around your lips if you purse your lips frequently. Botox there can also help you break the habit of pursing your lips.

You need to discuss cosmetic tattoos. I love my fuller natural colored lips that I wake up with every day. I know they don't last forever but in the mean time it is the best!

Major issue with procedures in the office is that they are really way way way over priced for what you’re getting!!. Seriously why!!! the stuff (lip fillers) it doesn’t cost that much to manufacture! sure as hell does not cost anything to put it into a syringe! so what are you paying for? your paying for the doctor to do it in! just ridiculous how much they charge!!

I was surprised you didn't mention fat transfer as a means of lip plumping. I've mostly seen it done wrong on shows like "Botched".

I have a plumper for you try! It’s through Victoria’s Secret /Pink line and it’s called “Plump Me Up”! So far it’s the best one I’ve tried. It’s tingles and even stings just a tiny bit. But it seems to lessen the appearance of wrinkles along the edge of my lips. I love it. I also take a bit of my ROC facial moisturizer and run it along edges of my lips and that helps also.

Is fat transfer an option? 🙈
