Look at his collection! Seeing this made me realise i havent even started to watch the real cinemas

I have never heard AK talk about Iranian cinema . He seems to be more influenced by Hollywood Japanese and Korean . Of course all his recommendations are excellent . The sad part that I noticed in our generation of cinema is we have stop telling stories we make excellent technical movies however dialogue screenplay and narrative of story are slowly going . So e.g. you watch any movie they are totally entertaining and well produced acted and as an audience you enjoy it but soon forget it . We no more make classic’s that we can revisit again and again .

Why do Indian film makers just watches foreign movies??? Reason is simple. They will just copy film making from them.

To be fair, I've watched many movies but Anurag Kashyap is one of the few Indians who intimidates me based on his sheer cinematic knowledge. I was like Yeah... I've watched 1000-2000 movies and this guy has watched like 10x more movies than me. Having said that, I'm 17 and I dream one day of surpassing him in no of movies watched. I too want to be a filmmaker.

As of now, I haven't watched all of Kiarostami's works but he's definitely my type of filmmaker... He makes the movies that I'd like to make.

One of the greatest filmmakers of his generation not just in India but the entire world. Some people don't like him because he is vocal about his political stance and causes but who cares about them.
