I downloaded your notebook and it looks like there are a few bugs in the code, that are causing issues with the note timings. That's probably why you are getting issues with notes speeding up. I managed to sort it out by only using midiutil (you have a combination of two methods in your notebook) and setting the tempo after creating the midi file. Also, I think you need to use addNote rather than note on/off and multiply the duration and time by the number of beats per bar. In 4/4 time a quarter note is 1 beat, not 1/4 of a beat. GPTJazz also seems to have the same problem. Also,. there seem to be some issues with the results back from ChatGPT, for example it said it gave me 4 bars but then gave me 32 1/4 notes rather than 1/8 notes (I didn't look into this yet to see if there's some problem with the prompt or whether it's just ChatGPT making a mistake). The massive problem with chat gpt or any other ai is the welfare sized token alottment that you get. Even with gpt4 its only 18,000 tokens . Once your code gets to a certain size the AI simply gets chronic amnesia and your progress comes to a sceeching halt as you run around in circles trying to solve problems while the ai continuosly loses its memory with everytime you post the new scrypt. Claude AI boasts a nice 100,00 tokens but its coding skills and unwillingness to complete anything makes it pretty much useless.

I am kinda lost, how do we convert the code into a midi file?

Million dollar idea, make a virtual instrument that uses GPt API calls to generate MIDI data that one can drag and drop and have it all work properly, Might have to program a plugin for it

All the output I heard in this video sounded terrible and barely musical in nature. It sounds like someone that just learned to play chords or play piano just randomly playing parts of the scale without much respect for how progressions and melodies should go in order to sound beautiful and logical. But I know AI is coming a long way in so many regards, so it will be interesting to see where things go and how long it takes for AI to make music that sounds as good as truly talented musicians, let alone The Greats. It will happen, I'm sure; it's just a matter of when!

Uhm.... This is great but can this prompt you've given the AI a bit vague in terms of Electronic music producers? I want to do trance music - I create it myself and I dont have issues with making my own melodies but Id like to see it do one that represents trance ... it currently just goes up & down notes like a 2 year old on a harmonica 🤣🤣

The reason why I will never be impressed with A.I. is because it's still just a computer functioning on 1s and 0s. Even though the data base is huge and continues to grow, it's still just a glorified calculator at the end of the day, capable of computing via language instead of numbers.
