As of 2018, a 4th Generation HIV 1 & 2 duo/combo Anitibidy test (has a 95% accuracy in 30 days after possible exposure and 99.7% accurate after 90 days) along with a HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (99.7% accuracy after 30 days). Both test will be a blood draw taken to a laboratory for processing (not a rapid test).

The 4th generation HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test is far better than the previous HIV 3rd generation test, which required retesting at 90 days. The 4th generation duo HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test along with an HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (early detection test) will be given to be conclusive that you are HIV negative.

The HIV 1 RNA looks for the actual HIV DNA in your system and has pretty much replaced the Western Blot.

Note: Don't worry if you come out positive. HIV is now a chronic condition and soon will be a thing of the past. Cancer kills more people than HIV. You will probably pass away from natural causes than HIV. They even got shots for you to take now instead of pills. 2023 and the future years will be amazing.

Can some help me. I had sex 6 years back. I had a test on 2016 it came negtve. And now frm couple of days may be 15 to 25 i m havin neck pain. Its not swollen but i gt pain botg the sides of neck. 4th gen ag ab able to detect 28days from the exposure. CDC still recommend to get following test after 3months for high risk exposure. This what I get from poz forum site. They are professional ppl and legit source.
