Look, a show about a trailertrashhobag who gets to slip into heaven because of 'comedy'. There is only one place a person like her deserves to be and that's 'the bad place'.

I've never seen this show, thinking about watching it. Is it really good? I need a new show to get hooked on 🙃

I finally realised why I so desperately want to watch this despite it being just marginally better than the big bang theory!
None of the female characters have their tits oot which is a great improvement.
I wish it was just a little funny. There's that big convoluted plot, as if I'm looking for a plot when I'm watching a sitcom. JOKES, PEOPLE, JOKES!!
And don't get me started on the substitute swearing!

The only thing that I actually have a problem with is that dead botox space between her eyebrows, there`s like no facial expression except her raising her eyebrows! It`s so normal in Hollywood and the US, that people don`t even seem to take notice anymore! Well, as a European this kills it for me! :/

I miss this, I think it deserves a season 5-10 the afterlife can have so many shinnanigens, and they could of made it into something grand and epic instead of just comedy, with a little action.

Alright, here is the thing: This show is desperately trying to be a comedy and it is failing tremendously, but! But! It succeeds as a mystery show. So if you can tread through the countless bad jokes that fail to land and manage to bear spending time with the insufferable protagonists that are overly-exaggerated walking stereotypes, the show does offer a refreshingly new setting, good actor performances and some payoffs in the form of interesting plot twists/ dramatic reveals.

Coming from someone that is watching this for the first time,im glad so many loved it.I was locked in,by the end of the first episode.Its hilarious,suspenful.I cant waaaiit to see what happens next 😂

Not bad, but, seeing Cheety kissing Elenor, killed it for me. So not the type. Denzel Washington, or, Snoop dog! Even Madea!That would get me going! Cheety sweet, but…sex sinbol?! 🤪

When a show is THAT GOOD that the show's WRITING and the casts' ACTING SKILLS elevate their characters' PERSONALITIES to stand out more than anything else, it doesn't feel that there was forced diversity when the show was made.

But here we are, with a diverse cast and great feels up until the end. What a show. What a rare treat. If you haven't watched it yet, give it a try.

I recently figured out that the TV series "The Good Place" is based on the 1944 play "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Sartre.

The irony is that the line, “it’s ok Elenor, your in the good place.” was true the whole time. Even before she died.

Btw torturing someone into a "better person" is the dumbest idea EVER. Love and acceptance are what make someone a "better person". Everything else simply results in a hurt, frustrated, angry, depressed, anxiuos person with addiction issues, a row of phobias, ptsd you name it. If it wasnt obvious for you before, you're welcome. The second dumbest idea is that people are all intact mentally and whatever they do it is their "choice" and if it hurts someone they "chose" to hurt them. It's simply utterly d.u.m.b. Character shows under pressure is also d.u.m.b. This whole idea of people are finished products and should be tested and labelled is d.u.m.b. People should be allowed to be messed up, to lose it, to have mental problems, anger issues, addictions, to be grumpy, to have nervous break downs without being stigmatized, labelled, targeted, humiliated, cancelled, screwed (especially if you caused it). It's also d.u.m.b. It doesnt make them a "bad person". It's a made up concept anyway. Stop hurting hurt people.

It was actually my idea that life on earth is a scam, it's actually the hell and we are here to torture each other in thoroughly planned relationships. It makes much more sense. You're welcome. I laughed hard at the boots. People (wrongly) think lying is bad, yet they are never ever honest, hide their thoughts in between the lines and show a fake image of themselves to the outside world. Yet they feel threatened by everyone else's fake images and lies. It's so ridiculous it must be hell.

Well, whoever's making the reports on people and judging them and making decisions about them based on those clearly knows nothing about how human psyche works. If that good place-bad place exists (it does in the heads), we're screwed. People should stop playing god bc they cant even come up with the right questions (which is not the "good or bad", "kind or unkind", "hard-working or worthless", etc), so how could they know the answers?

Most satisfying ending to a TV series you will ever watch in your life. If you thought the plot twist at the end of season 1 was good, just wait. You’ll bawl your eyes out by the end.

Just finished S1, started S2, and really enjoy this series. It was on NBC so I assumed it was garbage, and ignored it. I don't watch much of anything anymore from the major networks. But, it's a well written, funny, sweet, quirky, show that works on all levels for what it is, and it's basic premise is very original (think the movie "Defending Your Life" with some twists...), especially considering it comes from the major networks. One of the rare shows even viewers and critics liked on Rotten Tomatoes (97% / 89%). From now on, I will attempt not so assume any series from the major networks always sucks in these modern times. Hopefully the other seasons are are good, but so far, S1 and S2, are as good as those. B+/A-

It could be an excellent series but the jokes about the French are boring, one is fine, two ok but 1000... the Americans really have a problem with us...

Actually the Islam is telling us about the Afterlife. I’ve recognized in the netflix serie when I was watching it that they need to be perfect to be able to go the good place but in the Islam we learn that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes and the Paradise is filled with people who are sinners BUT sinners who did repentance to Allah (God), who seek forgiveness. We also believe in Jesus (peace be upon him) but we believe that he’s a prophet and was send by Allah (God) to spread the message of Islam, so that he’s not God himself. There’s so much more interesting and wonders about Islam so if you’re interested, do ur research about it with an open mind and heart and see how the Islam makes so much sense about ur life and why the earth was made and why you were made :) about what will happen after you die, about the afterlife and so much more.
