I bought one in s90v and fatcarbon scales for 3x that price lol
ОтветитьAfter getting one i do like it but I have a few more at least with mine. The action is a little stiff. With the lock pulled it haha freely but with it untouched it opens slowly. I CAN flick it but it does flick great. I love the weight and size and it feels great. Maybe a little cheap but im using it as a camping knife and if it feels too nice i won't end up using it so that's perfect. I occasionally edc it but with the right action and a badly designed hole instead of studs it's not great to open. If it had a slightly different blade shape (nothing wrong with it, not my preferred shape) and thumb studs it would be pretty darn good. Still good, but not as good. Can't compete with my vision fg except that this is smaller and lighter.
ОтветитьI bought it and returned it same day, when it arrived (Amazon) it had a loose pocket clip, one of the screw was headless. Overall I didn’t like the action, felt like a gas station knife, maybe it was a fake or a return i don’t know but I was very disappointed came defective and action was rough
ОтветитьI ended up installing a screwable thumbstud... with that this blade behaves as it should. Cheers!!
ОтветитьThese knife companies don't take into account that I open and close my knife about 2,000 times a day. Include extra omega Springs!!!
ОтветитьLove the videos - always feel like robert downey jr is talking to me about knives. Voice similarity is shocking….
ОтветитьI would for sure buy that instead of a bug out
ОтветитьWish it had a stonewash
ОтветитьI thought about taking the one I got today and have my jeweler engraver open up the handle area for that opening hole, I could do it myself but he has the perfect work space and tools
ОтветитьBenchmade WISHES they could make a knife as well as Artisan/CJRB. This knife is better in EVERY single respect, benchmade is absolute knife-hipster garbage for the Insta crowd.
ОтветитьDiscounting the tail, it looks A LOT like my yellow Racoon.
(Note: the Racoon doesn't have the ergo issue mentioned here, comes w/extra omega springs and arguably comparable steel, and a different handle tail design, which may be better for larger hands, all for about the same price)
Get the Bug Bud Out of your Butt🇨🇦😄
ОтветитьWhere did you get the scales for the Doug Ritter Hogue?
ОтветитьTest knife opening with the gauntlets on
ОтветитьNOOO!!! Benchmade you have to take the whole pivot out! As long as CJRB has a captured pivot like spyderco that's better! You don't have to take the whole freaking pivot out for every single thing
Ответитьhow would this compare to a brand like CIVIVI in general terms ?
ОтветитьMetal Complex “Making the knife community proud one ounce at a time!” 😊
ОтветитьI don't think people will be making a bugout comparison if you put the hectare next to a vosteed raccon.
ОтветитьBugout is a nice knife but not worth the money they charge these days. Benchmade has hiked their prices so high that that theyre not worth buying. The bugout i bought 2 year ago for $115 Benchmade now charges $170 for. The value isn't there.
ОтветитьI’m glad companies like Hogue, Kershaw, and CJRB are coming out with cost effective alternatives. I could have bought a bugout but I went with the We Kitefin instead
ОтветитьI went to college with a Schwartz. He was a giant nerd. Must be a relative of yours simp.
ОтветитьThe handle isn't trivial. It's enough I wouldn't get the knife. If I did, I would definitely reprofile the handle, no question
ОтветитьWhat knife do you have mounted over your fireplace?
ОтветитьNo this is not fighting hard. I just simply said I like the bugout because it’s light. Can I please get a hug.
Ответитьlol are you kidding. It’s not that important. I hope you’re not serious. My Bugout with the cheap plastic scales weighs 1.8 ozs and that’s why I have it as my primary knife. Its form and function are exactly what I need. I did watch this video start to finish about 3 times now so the budget comparison is interesting to me.
ОтветитьLook Dawg, The technical specs which I copied from the CJRB website says otherwise. So you’re wrong. But I’m sure you will say that the knife companies don’t always provide accurate information. Stop your silliness. I know you have to be right about everything.
ОтветитьIt only matters to me so why would you care? Not trying to make anything up. Grow up.
ОтветитьLooks like a vosteed raccoon copy…
ОтветитьYour scale is off
ОтветитьThis could be such a great pocket knife!
I hope they'll make an updated version with better access to the cutout.
(And an option for a black blade, and maybe also a black lock.)
Hey MC, put it between bugout and Vosteed Racoon, it's 100% copy of the Racoon blade, cjrb try hard to dominate the budget category at any cost.
ОтветитьSolid knife for a low price; but you are right about the hole being so ever slightly covered up just eats away at my patience and it would drive me crazy. But overall a decent and affordable option!
ОтветитьEvery non-Benchmade axis lock is a Bugout alternative.
It'll probably be better in every way too.
Looks more like a Vosteed Raccoon than a Bugout. That bump in front of the cutout is cray-cray.
ОтветитьLove the T8s on this, the Moyarl, and probably some others I’m not aware of. Seems to be a genuine change in the industry.
Ответитьthe reason I own 4 Bugouts is because it weighs 1.8 ounces. This porker is almost 4 ounces. Nah keep it.
ОтветитьI like the tagged out with flytanium scales
Ответитьtime to get the dremel out............
ОтветитьI guess the money you'd save buying this over the bugout could help pay for a Dremel to grind out the scales to improve access to the opening hole...
ОтветитьOK brother, I hear ya, but I own RSKs and Grips that are way more expensive and they ALSO did not include omega spring spares. The finger bump in the path of the thumbhole, that I get.
ОтветитьThanks for the review!
It's great that we are getting more and more bugout alternatives. We have this and the crossbar vosteed racoon for the budget end, there are the Kizer drop bear and knaf lander 2 for the slightly more, and then there's the hogue deka and now the Kershaw Bel-Air for the one with fancy steel. Even the last two it's just a lot more affordable than the bugout. Man, I love competition.
Too heavy and bearings makes it a no-go for me as a hiker. Ok as a simple edc.
ОтветитьIt looks like a Bugout, but I think it looks better. I think the Bugout manages to look awkward! I like this one better, but how many steels? How is the action? How many handle options? I have come to want everything my way!
ОтветитьNot sure if this is a good place to post this, but the Remette Wild Species folding knife with a front flipper and thumb stud is only $34.96 today with a coupon code. Down from $58.
ОтветитьThe term "bugout" for a knife must only apply to normal people. We are never going to choose 1 knife to take with us in case of emergency and leave the other 500 behind.😆
ОтветитьI like that knife. Thanks for showing.
ОтветитьI really love the joy in your voice when you talk about the Bugout and the Hector looking alike :D I haven't had that much fun at a YT video in a long time. Made me laugh a lot :D That bugged me best joke + nobody is going to mount this over there fireplace. Love it! Best video so far!
