CT (Computed Tomography) Scan: What to expect

Just had one for scanning for cancer. Had to do a protein diet the day before NO SUGAR!

I was supposed to have a MRI on Wednesday could this be a replacement for it or no? It’s supposed to be a Brain MRI also it’s been a long time since I’ve had either one. Thank goodness i won’t have to have a MRI on Wednesday.

I have a question regarding when a CT scan is performed. Is it necessary for the gantry to rotate around the body to get the images required. or can your body be scanned by just having the body be moved back and forth into the machine while holding your breath .Also is there a light that comes on.

I have a CT scan for my 👃 .. the doc said so..

What is contained in the contrast material? Barium or iodine?
How much radiation is a patient exposed to during the procedure?
