She looks exactly like the actress from Felicity or Austenland. I can’t remember her name. They could be twins

No, the people did not go there from Southern Europe. These graves belongs to Fenno-Ugric people. Have they made any DNA testing? Germanic people went up North many thousands of years later.

"I felt that this was someone I recognized ..."

Sorry, but the population of Sweden has been replaced since that time - she would look like no one you have ever known. The Swedish people didn't even exist yet when she was alive, so if you think you could recognize her, it's a bad reconstruction. She should look different than anyone you know.

Maybe she died seated, and when rigor mortis set in they buried her in that position. The rest is added speculation, that she might have been a shaman etc.

Anyone besides me feel like yes she was a shaman and very powerful one. She looks like she can stare into your soul and see every bad thing you did and will do in the future. Dang she is other worldly.

Wouldn’t she be dark skinned with brown eyes based on the genetic timeline of when light skin and blue eyes appeared?

The BBC has a tendency to feature very parochial and estoric stories. How some ancient Swede looks like is simply not important.

What’s with the cheap and nasty digital voiceover? Almost as bad as the background music soundtrack. I thought I was watching discovery channel offcuts for a moment there. Tories gutting the BBC budget like they are the ABC budget here in Australia?

Fascinating topic. Presentation was not cleverly artistic; just disruptive and annoying. Listening to the experts talk, and seeing the what they were talking about, was the substance of interest. Everything else was unnecessary and irritatingly distracted from that.

Anthropologists always jump to "shaman" when they find an exceptional burial of a woman. It's lazy. We can't know. Seven-thousand years ago is too remote for us to make such claims.
