This song is haunting coming from the drug's perspective. I only listen to the live version of it at Slane. It makes the actual record sound flat. That's the proof of a great band. We're blessed to live in the same dimension as John Frusciante without which the Chili Peppers don't exist. So glad the band's back together.

Every single part of this song mentions a specific time of my life when I didn't even think I had any person that I've consistently been tight with from 6 years old in the tool shed till now 43 , I was thinking I never been to jail, then I looked down and realized that rainbow rug I just bought it a couple months ago, and I have been unable to finish fixing this camper and figure out how to move it somewhere self sufficient because anyone I interact with depletes and restrains,. Stuck over a year. And my sense of smell is clair sensitive.. it's only about drugs when I had to take the train to rehab everyday at 17. I rode it naked one time.

When you are not native English speaker and you grew up with MTV you discover groups like this one, they became iconic in your teenage life, now you really know English because you moved abroad time ago, then you realise by songs like those, the far you was from those feelings, feeling really safe and conscious about how many lives drugs screwed up. RHCP still a good example about the trip a drug addiction means, nowadays Anthony barely remember the lyrics of his own songs (I'm not going to speak about hepatitis) as a consequence of those crazy days overdosing. I'm really scared about the future of the fentanyl addicted people.

I never understood this song until I watched the lyrical video now. I believe it’s about drug addiction and how it never really goes away and calls to him even the memories. but I still can’t say for sure. I liked this song since I first heard it when my little brother bought their B.T.W. Album when it first came out. I had never done a deep dive into the lyrics until now because of how captivating the instrumentals were. This just blows me away on a whole new level.

Y'all.. listen to this covered by Bo Steele. I hate to say it, but he did it better.. Bo is my son's father's cousin, he introduced me to his music a few years ago and don't forget me always been my favorite but I thought it was an original. Just today, I happened to scroll down in the comments on his and found out it was a chili peppers song. I think even the chili peppers would agree, that song was made for him. Check it out, u won't regret it. It has SOOOOO much more feeling to it.
