it's really deceptive the prices they share b/c like are you going to use all $45 of the parmigiano? or are you going to use 1 tsp? so less than $1? And they have 7 lbs of grain! $363 would make at least 20 pizzas. Also, those Bianco tomatoes? on sale at Cost Plus world market for $5.49, not $12.99! where the heck are you people shopping? Lish's recipe for 1 pizza probably cost under $15.

Imho Lorenzo did it better as he did not flatten the dough with the rolling pin. He will have a nice puffy edges and probably the crust. VincensosPlate would probably agree ;)

Thing is with the cost:

They buy one package of a very expensive ingredient, list the price for the whole thing, but only use a fraction of it.
e.g. the price will skyrocket, if I buy 2 Bottles of 100$ Olive Oil, but only use a spoon or two.

Prices should be calculated and compared per serving and actual used ingredients.

poor guy has to follow her recipe but she can do whatever. I absolutely agree it would be unfair to expect him to come up with a different pizza with those ingredients, but he could easily have been encouraged to add his own twist on it...

Most of the cost seems to be in the fennel pollen, various cheeses, and high grade olive oil. Plus it assumes you're buying the whole thing even if the recipe only calls for a bit. Realistically, Lish's dish could probably be reduced to about $60 depending on what you go with
