It’s called jealousy. Something women do. If one strives, they’ll bring that person down. Jessica had backup plans and it’s called growing up.

Her writing novels was a smart move. But all of this brings back memories.

Back in the day, everyone went with rumors, Information flying around. Twitter Threads, alleging she’d get married asap and that this was the main reason, she’d left. She’s still not married in 2023. It’s also really amazing that so many male idols had and have side businesses and didn’t get kicked out, but she did.

I am still rooting for her to this day. Wishing her all the success

Conflicts between members are normal, think of your family, friends and coworkers.
There are a combination of lot of other issues that lead to that decision.
Would you think a big company like SM (who manage everything, concept, make up, stylist, songs, image etc) let others members to decide to kick someone out & let's someone in?!?
Think bigger... the unclear answer tell us that the big company made that decision but at the same time don't want to get blame from public so they leave it as unclear so ppl get confuse and the blame can be split b/w company & SNSD.
Do you know how powerful SM in Korea? Super powerful!!! They can cover up bad news, they can cut ppl out from station if they don't want to (eg: you will never see J be on the same stage/music show with SNSD even tho she still active as a singer after she left)
I read rumours and I have my own believe that SNSD members has nothing to do with J's departure.
I has a believe that SM made that decision due to J broken some u writing rules, like having her own business before their agreement. The HONGKONG incident with Taylor Wok back then (SM cover it up) and many more that we didn't know... Therefore, SM itself force to make that tough decision (bc they also don't want to lose SNSD image of the perfect 9 girls) - and for all of these, I strongly believe SNSD members never try to kick her out.
You see at the end of the day, everyone still go their own separate way... why would risk it to kick a member out to lost their image.
For whatever reason, I still love SNSD... and just for my personal opinion J is my least fav member in the group from day 1 when I watched "girls go school"... but it doesn't mean I don't want her as SNSD member.

Well, I love the girls... but we can't deny that many of them gained A LOT with Jessica out, specially Tiffany, YoonA, and TaeYeon... Jessica wasn't the leader, or main vocal, neither the visual, but she used to stand out. I thought she was the leader/visual when I came to know the group. She might not have the most powerful/stable voice, but her timbre was SO distinct... She was like a vocals glue, I miss her in SNSD.

Its just supposed to be a petty fight between the girls that I'm sure they can resolve but then SM and their parents came into the picture and insert Jessica's business into the formula. SM has no control over it esp the income. The parents of the other 8 felt that their kids will be used to promote Jessica's brand by being a member of GG but their kids wont get paid. It's money, envy and pride.

no one believes she was leaving to get married. she would be married by now if that was the truth. the members didnt like her cause she was successful. Ive been in K-ent now for over 25 yrs. Most of the book is what groups do to one another and how companies deal. the truth is SM would have said nothing about the success but the other bandmates and their parents wanted a cut.

Back in the day, when the news was fresh, I remember seeing in a lot of Facebook fanpages and groups that the main theory of Jessica leaving was because the members didn't want to keep dealing with a lot of the changes that were being made for their Best Live Concert in Tokyo Dome. That Jessica couldn't make up her mind on leaving the group or not and that was so frustrating for the other members, a lot of hard work was being put for the choreographers, the producers and Jessica was taking it from granted. That's why in the end they basically made her choose over her fashion line or the group. They had to wrap up for the next concert in december 2014. Jessica left in August 2014. It makes sense they were like preassured to put on the next show. I choose to believe that's what was really happening. Maybe Jessica was used to everyone accepting whatever she wished to do. Maybe in the story of her book she plays the victim but to me that sounds that we're only hearing 1 story out of the 9 that there actually are. I wonder if you asked other members like Hyoyeon, Yuri or Sunny how they have ever felt throughout their entire career regarding SNSD. I promise you someone would have it worse, but it's definitely not Jessica. Good for her she made it out of hell.

Imo: the most suspicipus members were Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon. Maybe a lil bit Tiffany or Yuri. Taeyeon seemed to be nice but has a quiet dark aura, prone to pessimistic thoughts, Sooyoung is too competitive, as someone w/ experience in girlgroyp, & 1 of d 1st trainees for snsd plus having a chaebol fam influenced her superior attitude, hyoyeon being 1 of d less not8ceable mightve felt insecurity. But overall what i can sum from the differing stories & from snippets videos, Tae,Soo,Hyo mightve reached their limits upon Jessica being much favored by LSM himself. Imagine allowing her to promote as jessica of snsd while launching her own fashion line, her lovelife going well.etc. while others dont have any significant solo gigs, it's actually understandable & inevitable if some of snsd members would eventu feel insecured or jealous of other members success.

If I'm being honest, I think Shine and Bright are highly highly fictionalised. I'm sure there must have been cattiness and bitchiness between the girls, but come on, real life is more than grey than this. I'm sure in reality, there was far more love and far more treasured moments shared between them, and that Jessica had her fair share of bad moments, too. I mean, Jessica was known to be ultra savage and had a constant RBF. From what I understand of the the whole 2014 situation, Jessica chose to leave at first because of all her business pursuits, which is why they'd shot the video for Divine as a goodbye to her. She then changed her decision later, due to having second thoughts about leaving her group, or her businesses, or Tyler, which is what made the members have to rethink her position in all of this. You really think all 8 members, most of whom were some of her closest friends, would vote her out randomly just out of vitriol, jealousy, or pettiness? And do you really think SM would have blacklisted her in the industry just because the other members wanted her to leave the group? Jessica definitely violated her contract in some major way and was unprofessional enough to lose the trust of her closest friends. I mean, I don't necessarily blame Jess either. SM contacts are literally slave contracts. I do think she wanted more out of her life, creatively and professionally. She pursued that and she ended up having to lose another part of her life because of it, and that happens. Hyoyeon has spoken about how they've all had to suppress their own individual voices, opinions, and inclinations to make the group stronger, and how difficult that was. I can understand that Jessica was struggling to continue living her life like that and wanted to do something that was her own as well. At the end of the day, her priorities had changed. I mean, trainees end up going through so much shit pre-debut, but the ones who get through it are the ones who are sure that they want nothing more in life as nuch as they want this. That's it. It's just unfortunate that she had a messy exit from SNSD, but that was probably because SNSD as a group was a big deal and there was probably a lot of pressure on them to continuously match a standard of work which Jess wasn't able to make happen anymore. SNSD and SM had to take a professional decision. It's not like it was a family business, SNSD was at the forefront of the Hallyu Wave, in a time where the SKorean govt was known to be supporting K-pop groups to improve their position as a global soft power.

Regardless of whether there were really undisclosed things (as far as the public is concerned ) and unresolved issues (as far as all of the members are concerned ), it's quite in bad taste that books of such contents were published years after GG had started being an 8-member group. The timing was sore; the contents are encouraging negative speculations about everyone and everything that's involved. One cannot be blamed for even deeming that the release of the book(s) was done in bad faith.

If the books were indicative of what really transpired years ago, then it's really a brilliant move by Jessica - on both personal and business level - that is, hinting the fans of her side of the story; getting back at the people who she thinks had wronged her in the past, with receiving the "spotlight" and some financial gains as icings on the cake.

Now, if the book(s) were really nothing but works of fiction, then it becomes quite a selfish act on the part of Jessica (and other people who were involved), given what the contents of the book(s) could be deemed hinting at. Even if her contributions during the early years of the group were not properly acknowledged and appreciated during the group's 15th year anniversary, she had the choice whether to have the book(s) released at such a sore timing or not; or to have them not released at all. Unless the people who were involved in the conceptualization and publication of the book(s) were operating under the mindset of "bad publicity is still publicity" or "business is business", the act could be deemed as a really shameful one, bereft of human decencies and laden with malice.

what is weird is in spite of all these things they all said and did, one cannot ignore certain facts, like the first concert without Jessica, for all the other members, when the fans started to chant Jessica constantly the songs they were singing all seem to point to Jessica, they all shed a tear and poor sunny at one point was crying so hard you could see how hurting she was, and ended up walking off in tears, which means they all regretted their decision, and it suddenly hit them like a hammer what a mistake they made, which is strange really, all things considered,

things change and some people outgrow each other, whether in good terms or bad, lets say even if she was brought back to the group by "popular demand" she probably dont want to be in it either there's a good chance she's the main cause/at fault in this

also they were young adults at the time who know basic morals so if she was really wronged then members could have really defended her but in this case, it probably is mutual decision from her and the members and she graduated but is bitter because the rest of the group is going along well

honestly i trust in the 8 members more than the one even if she was portrayed as the "victim, singled out" on this social media echo chamber.

Ответить

all the other comments (and possibly some fake accs to generate manipulation/views of the public) trying to frame her as someone who was wronged, ganged up upon and make it seem like they're almost evil even, sheep people easily believe this and try to bandwagon and sympathize with the wrong person

Ответить
@MetalGeckoable

there's probably a good reason why she left/got kicked out, watching latest vlogs the girls have a very tight knit and genuine relationship. i can see that person still being in the group even if she was just awkward but being abruptly removed/left might mean a personality/attitude problem disrupting the group or she had other priorities and wasnt really that close for her to keep staying (like an outcast).

people assuming/claiming its because of jealousy that she was kicked out but i really dont think thats the reason. i think its mostly she didnt really fit and did not want to continue extending her contract to be with everyone.

its such a major decision that she wouldnt just get kicked out just because of a little conflict, jealousy etc. its probably a mutual understanding that the girls did not mix well with her vice versa but with her being bitter because she became an outcast, thus the fictional book trying to pull down the others.

there would be no book if she wasnt bitter and was actually in good terms with everyone

good riddance and natural thing that would happen as people would say

I don’t believe Jessica is shading Taeyeon or Sooyoung or any other members at all. Obviously the friendship between the group and Jessica took a dive after Jessica left but they had no bad blood whatsoever and no one forced her out and everyone was visibly upset at the fan meeting the day after the departure was announced. The best explanation for everything would be that both parties just moved on and everything that happened was due to conflicts within their company. Their company probably also restricted their communication so they don’t keep in touch often.
