I think critiquing a product you dislike is fair enough, hating on people for liking it and vice versa, not very nice people, at all, absolute time wasting morons.

I don't have high standards, I don't have low standards, if you like a movie, good on you, if you don't like a movie, respect.

Hey, listen, I'm a horror fan . But, I don't like every horror movie ever made! Also, if someone has seen a movie and says oh , don't bother seeing that movie, it stinks! They may not like it but it doesn't mean you won't like it. I remember someone saying to me about the first Riddick movie, don't bother seeing it. So , I avoided it. Than , I saw it and loved it. Pitch Black. Point being, you like what you like and if you don't you don't ! So , everybody just shut up .

If the movie is marketed and framed as a direct sequel, I think it’s perfectly understandable to expect that a standard be met.

this movie was so over the top and stupid. i REALLY liked the cinematography but i felt like the story line was weak and that there was too much added "scare factor." i dont know why they added the school shooting backstory. it felt super out of place. i also think that making the chainsaw man super overpowered was a weak point and made it less scary. also the ending kill was so obnoxious it made me laugh because it was so unexpected.

I love your reviews-because you and I don't see eye to eye with our tastes. Though, I find myself agreeing with you a lot. I'm not huge on early 2000s PG-13 horror. That being said I have a huge nostalgia trip for 2008's Prom Night...I know, I know. It's bad. It just puts me in a good mood. lol Anyway, I'm more into A24 horror and sometimes I like super gory stuff like Terrifier. I think you have a fair and balanced outlook. Your review here is really my thoughts on this movie.

You will RARELY hear this from me. I am a huge fan of yours but honestly I am the opposite of a Feminist as a gay man. I have to say I had fun with the movie but I could not believe the dumb decisions made by not only the male characters, but most especially the female characters. Like why did that Black woman need a man to drive the bus? I know the bus was old and maybe it was a stick shift maybe I cant remember, but why she didn't just take the wheel? Instead rely on this drunk guy who is passed out. makes no sense.

This could be one of those movies that you can enjoy if you just roll with it. I think comedy + horror = comedy. I don't remember it being that scary or the plot steps that great, but it was interesting. Bonus points for the bus slaughter and ending credits earworm. Interesting exploration of controversial issues, which, like in The Hunt, people seem not to grasp fully. An interview of the director had him saying he was going for nuance, which many can't see at all. He had a gun violence victim required to use a gun--she was forced to see the gun as an intrinsically-neutral tool that could be used in a positive way. I would have preferred the right-wing guy help her learn to use it better so she could use it more effectively and nearly defeat Leatherface, for further nuance.

Movie was utter trash! It really was. So forgettable really and the woke stuff I suppose was to be expected, but honestly they went one step further with just how obnoxious and irritating the main characters were. Even if the movie was good it wouldn't matter because the characters suck so bad! The part where the people on the bus get out their phones just proved to me how unnecessary this movie was. You apparently can't make a slasher movie set in the present modern era without having characters glued to their phones so much that they basically offer themselves up to be slaughtered. Movie so funny because people in modern era dumb huehuehue, get it? Just awful really, but then we get to the ending, which just topped it all off. It just became so predictable how things were going to end and honestly if anybody was actually rooting for these two insufferable dweebs at the end, I would be shocked. The whole "badass female" character thing is just cringe also. I laughed hard as hell at it. Honestly just another forgettable remake. Trash. Moving on 😂

I agree 100% with what you're saying about the remakes. A cash grab, that's it. We need more original horror that's the one genre when you can create the harshest realities on the planet. The Hollywood/ Indie market needs to spot thinking about money and focus on the art again and they will still make lots of cash.

You’re right, why go to the trouble to modernize it only halfway and still keep everyone so completely stupid? Its nonsensical! Id rather have seen him travel through what looks like each set of all the old slasher movies! Crystal Lake, Elm Street, the Myers home…at least it would have been self aware! Plus I think it’d be pretty entertaining! If someone uses this idea, I at least want top billing lol

Thank you for mentioning the gun character….
I personally don’t care where anyone stands on the gun opinion. I grieve to the bottom of my soul for every child that we hear about that’s harmed in this world, no matter how. That mommy has lost her baby, why are the politicians the only ones concerned about who & how? They aren’t unless they can spin it into a race issue or into a political issue of weapons. (Shame on them!)
Look, my point with this is that every movie doesn’t need to teach a lesson or prove a point! Movies can just entertain! They don’t need to pit one group against another in an angry debate! We CAN actually disagree with each other’s opinions and still remain the best of friends! That’s allowed.
Just don’t let all these politically charged movies get the best of us.
-take care, many blessings, be happy 🙏🇺🇸

They tried SO hard to make it like the Halloween series, only for it to flop miserably in comparison. You see, why the tropes they used in this film work so well in Halloween is because Micheal Myers is an unknown. He takes off his mask like twice and we have no idea how he’s alive or what he even is- but Chainsaw Massacre has never had that? The villains aren’t entities like Micheal Myers… they’re just… creepy dudes 🧍‍♂️

Holy shit watching melody get cut with the chainsaw then covered with shit was amazing. Then the bus full of influencers getting chopped up with the here's Johnny scene. This would have been an amazing movie if they made a new killer instead of using leather face the only reason this movie fails is because they took a serious killer like leatherface and put him in a horror comedy. I absolutely hated the chainsaw uppercut and wish the big nose bitch would have had a more brutal death.

Listening to your rant and I'm so on board. I unashamedly love the Saw movies, and I spend an unhealthy amount of time analyzing the narrative connective tissue throughout all of them. I always enjoy re-watching them, even though the gore makes me VERY uncomfortable. However, I'm not so foolish as to argue that these films are above criticism or are objectively good. There is A LOT of things wrong with them, and I don't blame anyone who dislikes how they affect the horror genre or cultural conversation. I am fully capable of enjoying these movies while critically discussing their pros and cons; these aren't binary abilities.
