ОтветитьI wish I could like this twice! Subscribed with Notifications!
ОтветитьJust have to put this out there, the og HARVEST MOON
ОтветитьThis video is so good.
ОтветитьRegarding the "you don't normally see the ocean or the sky" thing, I present to you:
- Sharpedo Bluff & the coast in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky
- The top of Death Mountain in A Link to the Past
I dont understand, how do you turn this into a workable asset? How do you know if you need a 16 x16 character, or a 32x32 character? I would never get this to autotile as terrain.
ОтветитьIn which Software you are Designing?
ОтветитьThe constant music at a level right under your voice level is distracting.
ОтветитьWhat should somebody be charging to offer level design sprites like this?
ОтветитьI've recently decided to pick up game development, and pixel art has always fascinated me since the early Harvest Moon/Final Fantasy days.
These videos have probably been the most helpful in learning Pixel Art.
I couldn't not click on that thumbnail. 3 incredibly beautiful games
ОтветитьCould you please tell me which photo viewing software is used?
ОтветитьI wonder how this would work with something more so...interior? i can see how this can work with and outdoor thing. I guess I have to go through your videos to find out ^-^
ОтветитьTop down games: Hey lets use asset density and noise to tell players they can't go in an area without having to spell it out.
2d side scrollers: What if the player could pass through this part of the wall that's been totally solid up to this point and has no visual difference from the rest of the wall in order to get a secret power-up??
Thanks, Megaman, for making me spend an extra 15 minutes on each mission sliding down all of the walls and repeatedly dying by jumping off platforms hoping another one below that I couldn't see would break my fall...
Love this video. If I were to dabble with getting into creating fun pixel scenes for fun in the style of Pokemon GSC and even GBA version of Link to the Past, and also Pokemon Ruby, and even Fire Red style, which software options would you recommend to me? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance 😁
ОтветитьYESSSS!! Oh this is the pixel class I was hoping to find!! :D I have recently been getting into pixel art for a possible experimental project and I am so glad you did a video on top down! * ^ * This style of game has always been a huge inspiration for me and I really hope to be able to create something with that kind of feel to it. Thank you so much for the Pixel Art Class tutorials they really have been invaluable
ОтветитьI've just started my gamedev journey and this is ESSENTIAL viewing. I was wondering where you're from because I can't quite place your accent and it's really melodic!
ОтветитьWich program do you use For making those, I tried it with gimp so far,
ОтветитьYou are godsend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Bestest of bestest blessings to you!
Ответитьyour drawing is amazing. Do you draw these kid of pictures for your map? or is it better to work with tileset. Seeing this amazes me. but i still dont know how to implement proper graphic to my game
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьTop down vs isometric?
Ответитьif i wanna make a game map or something with the top down perspective then is it better like this? just one pic or is it better with tilesets? i dont rly like tilesets (didnt rly try it) but i rly like just drawing like this lets say a town for example for lets say for example a pokemon like game + looks kinda? so what is better for a game? does it even matter?
Ответитьyou're incredible!
Ответитьi didnt know your channel until today and i just loved that video. subscribed ^^
ОтветитьI wonder why you call this top down? I don't mean to be rude butt here is a difference between Top Down and Birdview.
Those example screenshots are 100% Birdview and not topdown.
is he drawing with a pad or mouse?
Ответитьthat beautifil, thanks!
ОтветитьWhat app were you using
Ответитьwhats the middle game in the thumbnail
Ответитьworking on making my own game and since I am broke decided to learn Pixel art
this was a very helpful video and I will definitely be looking at your other videos as I learn Pixel Art
It looks like they just copy/pasted the tree assets and perhaps had 3-4 color differences to use
ОтветитьI just want to cover his face with a black page and focus on the video.
It's creeping me out 😬
The thing that bothers me, is looking at this Man's face while watching this entire video
Ответить- Randomly searched "Unreal 5 top down pixel tutorial", found this 6 vids down
- Skimmed a few chapter titles, clicked "The Role of Contrast"
- Saw your magnificently 'Explain Like I'm 10" graph
- Listened to your easy, informative, dulcet tones for 10 seconds
- (I wrote this because creators tend to like the steps someone took to join their audience)
You're my 103rd subscription. Don't even need to see the rest of the channel. Whether I get into game dev or not, your work is fantastic to listen to. Awesome stuff dude, you're engaging and super informative. Best of luck with your ongoing work
great work
Ответитьgod i wish i didnt suck at drawing. i follow step by step but, u pick the colors so fast, and all of a sudden the strange green blob is some beautifully detailed tree. i feel so lost
ОтветитьZenonia 😳
ОтветитьI love the way you explain the layout. How would you use a large map that you'vev drawn for instance in a Top down game like in UNITY for example
Ответитьhe makes it look so easy 😩
ОтветитьI can NOT get over how this perspective is called "Top Down". This is not Top Down, it's basically just like isometric, but the angle of the camera isn't diagonal.
True "Top Down" is like the original GTA 1 and 2 games. Hotline miami, Csgo2D, and a bajillion other top down shooters. I can never find true top down art, because this perspective gets called top down so much that the actual top down art is buried. This is diagonal down perspective. Down across, 45 degree angled camera at some distance from the scene perspective. Idk what it is, but its not top down.
You're a legend man, hope you go far!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU. This video was incredibly informative and provided some excellent insight :)
Ответить“G’day, palls.”
Hey buddy!
