Here's Why I Turned Down MIT & Stanford...

It is a personal preference, and Harvard University is not a better university than MIT or Stanford University.

why did you apply to them if you did not want them?

Not many have these choices. Having lived in cambridge and shalo alto cambridge is better

However mit should have been your pick and enroll in few Harvard classes


Boston to new york city for a career is perfect

Silicon valley is best if you plan to start your firm

Grade inflation is great. It makes entry into graduate school easy.

Seriously, why is this even considered a big decision. All there are top schools, and you pick one that fits you the best. If he had chosen say UC Davis instead of MIT etc., then I would have liked to hear his reasoning.

I'm a Stanford MD PhD and you can be successful going to any of the schools. Congrats

I've heard there is a lot of pressure and competitiveness to get into elite clubs at Harvard. The MIT fraternities have a selection process that is looking for a good personality fit, but there isn't much of a status difference between them. It's mainly a way to find a group of people you want to live with and interact with the most. A lot of other people want nothing to do with the frats, and that's fine too.

I guess it was pretty obvious as you EDed to Harvard.
