once you realise nick land is just a sophisticated solipsist everything starts to make sense, he isnt a fascist or anything even remotely "sane", he is just a very selfish and delusional person (i know that doesnt sound much different than fascists lol), he is an individual, oh, and main reason why he is so attached to capitalism is because he benefited from it greatly and its main source of his privilege

its simple really

The only Acceleration politics I’m interested in is Anarcho-Transhumanism. Very radical ideas of autonomy and libertarian socialist philosophy in relation to technological progress. Completely in opposition to the Land NRx milieu. A/H+ 🟦🏴

It seems really bizarre the way you guys sail over the whole “he wants to accelerate a process that results in the end of the human race” thing. Why would he possibly want such a thing? What’s even the attraction? As opposed to do everything you could to fight it.

Love 'Neuromancer,' and 'Snowcrash.' (Zuck nicked the name 'Metaverse' from this novel, I reckon!)

Asimov had the Multivac (Multiple Vacuum tubes) which I read about, a few decades ago in one of his stories.
From memory it was a planet wide network, accessible via computer terminals on the street.
Can't recall if only financial, or wider like our Net.

ATMs came here just as I started working and I wondered if the inventor had read Asimov.

Great upload! 🤠💜

Now it's more interesting with real possibilities of nuclear war over Ukraine or Taiwan

Worth remembering Heidegger's open support of the Nazi part and platform throughout his teaching career. Much like the problems of Robert Michels, take their work with a mines worth of salt grains.

Its worth reading their works but its also worth knowing their world views as they worked on their cornerstone works.

What strikes me is how, aside from picking up seemingly random bits and bobs from the right, from this explanation he doesnt seem to move away from leftism at a fundamental level. He is anti life, indifferent to the human, making obscene forces His god and embracing the ultimate worse case scenario as soem sort of aesthetic fetishisation. This is not the persuit of the True, the Good, the Beautiful over and against the monstrous forces of modernity that the true right wing reactionary ought to be embracing

Like, who didled them in the crib or maybe mama was a drunk and they have some congenital brain damage. The whole accelerationism thing, the whole AI singularity to serve capitalsm... for who?
Listen, this turning the world into "things" is sociopathic. Its a sign of a truly malevolent soul (as much as those monsters have souls). Maybe a malignant narcissism and a bloated sense of self born from some deeply embedded psychosis.

The point made early about platforming is well said. Inviting a fascist media figure to "debate me bro" is very different than reading contemporary political philosophy which happens to disagree with you... its not like Land was a card carrying n*zi... unlike many peoples certain favorite german philosopher, lmao

Let me first say I’m barely familiar with Nick Land, and I’m learning a lot from you in this episode. I’m an antifascist and an anarchist and I’ve only been introduced to Land through the lens that he’s in the same league as folks like LaRouche and Dugin as a philosophical influence on neo-Strasserist movements. I’ve seen him brought up in reference to folks like Haz as well as the Boogaloo Movement.

Let me also say I’m writing this less than halfway through, so take that with a grain of salt. I’m writing this now and not after I’m done because it’s fresh in my mind.

You say in here near the beginning that he’s not a fascist and, in fact, that he’s an antifascist. I’d like to get a better understanding of what you consider fascism to mean, as I tend to find philosophically minded leftists generally shy away from calling a spade a spade in this regard based in very narrow technicalities. I say this because, as I listen to you, I can’t help but note the similarities in what you’re talking about with his philosophy to the ideas of folks like Giovanni Gentile, namely his idealism, which some of these ideas feel like a technologically minded update of. There are the hyper capitalist third position components, the anti-democracy, the accelerationist ideas, the influences on Bannon, etc. Sure, I don’t hear the specific ultranationalist vision, but again, that wasn’t a component of Gentile’s work in the same way that it was in the folks who were more focused on that like Sorel, Valois, Maurras, and Mussolini. Gentile was unequivocally the guy who played the role of the philosopical mind behind Mussolini, and a very similar way that Land is playing that role with the modern global far right, which absolutely is fascist.

People don't seem to understand that capitalists work against capitalism. Not for it. They function as accelerationists within a anti-system. An anti-system is something that doesn't care about its own sustainability. It was designed to be transitionary. It was designed to fail. Why should we allow that? Why shouldn't we contend with the entropy of it?

@xandacab4285
@xandacab4285 - 08.09.2024 22:30

maybe the rest of the video will explain this, but idk how u can say land’s overall philosophy is antifascist. hyper racism allows for the designation of a pharmakos, and the very idea of capitalist monarchy seems largely identical to how fascism has historically been implemented at the economic level. i think the only difference between nick land’s end philosophy and fascism is that nick land is proposing a darwinism of fascisms designed to let the most effective/powerful/efficient form rise to the top as opposed to the inherent supremacist myths most forms of fascism hold about themselves

It is an impossibility to have any advancement in the material conditions of the working class without capitalism. It is a literal historical impossibility.

What makes the clowns babbling so vacuously here is that nothing they talk about is grounded in any basic data. There is no reference to either history or science. "Theory" is a mere verbal acrostic.

Capital cant do longterm unless the state has underwritten all the ground work for whatever achievement capitalism claims, capitalism exists as only a thin film of next quarter degeneration Ponzi with only historical relation to actual products due to legacy state enforcement. There is little control experiment of democracy, state, capital, tech progress, free collectivist versions.... because historically they all been mixed up & extracting correlation v causation - very difficult. Except via the new rebel acedmics especially Steve Keen's Ravel economic modeling & Kate Raworth's Doughnut economics. The tech weve got is the minimal capital will alow, not the most that is possible - propreitararity is the institutional break on acceleration. True neo democratic open source / science / society will maximal accelerationist ...but not for some narrow preconceived particular like { ai. intelligence god projection}, humanity at centre or humanity falls.
