I'm just discovered Opera I'm in love

This was my favorite production of this Opera, truly funny, mesmerizing, and beautiful.

A splendid offering from the RCM youngsters, ably directed by an opera great. As of 2024, many of these artists have gone on to greater things - look them up - which given their performances here is entirely unsurprising. This is supposedly one of the best operas ever written(?) but this group pull it off seemingly effortlessly. It all sounds and looks wonderful, providing excellent entertainment for almost three hours. Bravo!

Beautiful performance from such a young group. Whoever teaches Italian diction at the RCM is doing a very good job , bravissimo!

wow! this was the first opera i've ever seen and it was exquisite! i have never seen a comedy as witty and charming as this, and the overall story was so wholesome! i had also never been able to fully appreciate the brilliance of mozart-- i had just grown up hearing and knowing him as another basic building block of reality. how incredible!

I've always wondered how performers are able to get through their performance without completely breaking down at the sheer beauty of the work.

In the movie Amadeus, Salieri said Mozart’s music was the “Voice of God”. Voices that perform his genius enjoy a gift from God.

I must have heard the overture at least 100 times, but I've never heard it played this fast.

"The restored third act was bold, brilliant. The fourth was astounding. l saw a woman disguised in her maid's clothes, hear her husband speak the first tender words he'd offered her in years, simply because he thinks she is someone else. l heard the music of true forgiveness filling the theatre, conferring on all who sat there perfect absolution. God was singing through this little man, to all the world, unstoppable".

Très bonne interprétation. Le chérubin est très crédible avec son coté hesitant et emprunté. Merveilleux.

Bravo to everyone in this production, esp. to Thomas Allen!!! Great directing and such a delight to watch this production!!! Mozart would be proud of this indeed!!!
