So says the woman who became a millionaire through greasing the palms the corporations and doing backdoor deals.

It should be called Social Insecurity because it's not enough if you have expenses that you shouldn't have in retirement.... people really need to understand the history of welfare and Social Security. These programs were created to supplement the income of men for the women when the man was no longer around. Mainly white people. The reason why I'm bringing up race is because a large portion of blacks were denied these "entitlements" when they were created. This is why people can choose between their social security or their spouse's to claim. The same thing for tax credits and dependents. Stay at home moms. There's more single people and working women our society. No more pensions. More diverse. It has changed so I do think it needs to be reviewed..... You can retire anytime you just can't get the money.......

So the government is basically stealing from us? I and my employee contributed nearly $1200 toward social security and medicare this month and politicians wants to ensure I die before I can collect a benefit I've paid into my entire adult life?

Most people that can comfortably work past 70 have jobs that pay them well enough that they don’t really need social security benefits. The majority of people that need it can barely make it to 65 without serious ailments.

Actually, Let's start ratcheting back the Retirement age to 60. We can do this by TAXING the 1031 REAL ESTATE TAX ESCAPE. We can also raise money ON BANKS and the WALL STREET CLASS by adding 10 Cents a Share on Stock Transactions and OPTIONs and EVERY OTHER WAY that makes money. Social Security is a Safety net for those of us who are not Millionaires. I have paid in over 43 years and would like to know that I deserve the money put into this system in my sunset year when I will need it the most. People do not want to retire at 65 they want to retire earlier so they can enjoy some of their youth before their 70's . STOP talking about CHEATING the Elderly.

When Nikki stated she would increase the FRA to 70 is when she lost me. She is out of touch. Enough money for Ukraine and NATO etc etc but can not fund SS properly? America, you have enough money to set the FRA to 62 . Billions yearly for other nations and she would spend it on them. Yet force Americans to work until they are 70+. Wake up America. This won't work for people who do physical labor jobs. 67 years old is way to old for those jobs 70 would be impossible. Can you imagine doing physical labor until you are 70? Lifting heavy items, running around, climbing ladders ect. Please! I took retirement at 62, my ankles are giving out and my feet hurt constantly. I will be lucky to get my full mobility back with rest. I did the right thing for me.

My dad has to wait until he is 65 before he can receive retirement benefits... 65 years old is too long to wait, we need to change it back to 50!

You should start collecting your retirement benefits as soon as you become a senior, which is at 50! At 50 years old, you can enjoy the senior discounts at restaurants like IHop...
