I just finished writing thank you soo much I nailed that essay because of this summary. I will be telling me kids about you guys trust me🤞🏽.
We once went to go watch hamlet with my school but I was high and slept throughout the play. I low-key thought I was going to fail but you changed that. I probably got 23 on that essay.

Wow this takes me back- year 7 research on Shakespeare. Currently doing a masters degree. Damn time flies.

The genius of this play is how well it resembles real life. Communication is not clear, misinterpretation happens all over, ambiguity, all the characters have their own agendas, tragedy all around.

Love Shakespeare, of course, but it can be so difficult to keep all the names straight. Videos like this help a lot in making sure I have a clear understanding of what even happened in the story.

Hamlet should've assasinated Claudius the first time his dead father's spirit appeared. He also had the chance to kill him during the church scene. But Shakespeare was like "idc kill everyone and make a random ass dude the king and let him have the happy ending " like bro wtf-

Nahh I deadass believe Shakespeare wrote Hamlet as part of plot by the Norwegian prince to take the Danish throne. Like this guy killed the entire royal family and then creates an elaborate story telling of their tragic deaths. Like??? “it just so happened that coincidentally the king dies, his brother, his son, his relatives, his son’s wife and immediate family, his son’s friends and the only mf Alice was someone with no substantial connection to the royal family, a mf named Heratio? Nah….

I love Shakespeare... I lke the original writing, it has something lovely like Old Spanish, I don't know why... It's not so difficulty to understand... for example, I noticed that in Old English, they changed the "v" for the "u", the opposite than Old Spanish, where they changed the "u" for the "v"... that is one of the tricks to understand it; another is that they used some extra letters that dissapeared along the time, like some final e, for example...

This might be super cringey or too PC for some, but the part where hamlet is hung suddenly has got a friend of mind really shaken up (a family member did such a thing and... it's really put the guy in a difficult position when such things appear out of nowhere.)

I understand it sounds lame, and don't expect a change in the vid after a decade, but anyone who does read this - a lot of things that aren't sensitive to you are for others, and hopefully we can keep as much diverse content as possible without sacrificing creativity or substance while remembering that many (veterans, the unhoused, and others who have very difficult situations) would be helped by a little more thought into what suddenly pops into center screen.

Why does Hamlet look so fine in this video.

Granted this is a only a summary of the play but, I think it should've spent a bit more time and detail on the 'gravedigger' scene. This is kind of an iconic scene after all. Most people not familiar with the complete play, can often recall in one context or another the scene with Hamlet holding the skull of Yorick, the jester. That wasn't even mentioned in this summary. Apart from that rather significant detail, I enjoy these summaries. I look forward to Macbeth(my favorite Shakespeare story), Othello, and perhaps Romeo and Juliet. 👍
