TUNECORE IS NOT WORTH IT | MUSIC INDUSTRY TIPS

I use TuneCore for more than 3 years and I don’t have any problem with them.

What if I provided tune core my own ISCRS code instead of using there"s? Can't I move it to. the next distributor?

I think these providers are cheap tech people that know how to write few codes but can't help it but remain cheap scamming people. Do people have same issue with cd baby?

What you're saying about ISRC is rubbish bro...ISRC is unique code and cannot be reused. But you raised some good points...Most of these Digital distributors are most times scammers....and ripping us off.

Tunecore released my music but it’s not on Apple Music . I kept emailing and customer service said the song is active but it’s not. Definitely leaving them ASAP !!

Tunecore is way better and recommended their expensive because of what they offer

Distrokid is trash for the independent artist, they do not pay correctly at all and theyre iffy with the payment timing. They got bought by Spotify = conflict of interest for us. Ive had distro for years and found out personally

I’m with TuneCore and I feel like going to DistroKid, with TuneCore they don’t let my beats/instrumentals be on social platforms and I wonder if I’ll have the same issue with DistroKid. They’re excuse is since it’s instrumentals, they can’t be there but there was some I’ve released earlier and they were there but they don’t let the new ones I’ve released be on it. Also no OAC, but other than that, I’m just glad I didn’t pay the publishing from TuneCore but I’m still learning the publishing royalties as I’m going 😅 Not sure if I should renew the subscription either… Lmk 🙏 Should I just drop it all and move to DistroKid?

Tunecore is unlimited now, it hasn't been pay for release for a long time. I'm on Tunecore so are my artists. Distrokid don't pay on time for s***

I use Tunecore without any problems for distribution for years now and I actually would recommend them

I use both services and have switched songs back and forth between the two while using the same ISRC code. They both have a place for you to to enter the ISRC code when uploading a song. It is just on the more expensive plans I believe. They both have the up and downsides and there really is no clear winner.

My main problem with distrokid is the hidden fees if they took that away it would be perfect it’s just annoying or if u want to maximise your store selection you have to pay but ISRC code for tunecore problem is crazy

I watched one of your videos from 9 months ago promoting TuneCore, went ahead and purchased the Breakout package, then read their terms for publishing administration and found out they take 15% of your Gross Receipts. I should have checked your most recent videos. I even checked other artists to see who was the best distributor and they agreed with you in the other video. Shoulda just checked your page.

I can confirm about the ISRC, I just took my song down and there wasn't a way to transfer. Also, I tried to cancel my subscription and there wasn't a clear way to even do that! It was hard finding any info on how to which is odd. They ended up charging me even though i did everything that I could find to cancel. I had to contact them for a refund and for them to officially cancel

I ended up signing up with them for their publishing services a while back when they were pitched to me from a third party, I learned last minute unfortunately after purchasing the $75 one time fee that we would have to distribute through them to get their sync service as well. 😔So knowing what the publisher's purposes are I have requested to pull all of my songs from them and will use Songtrust only for the moment. This video helped solidify that information, especially knowing Distrokid is the best and has all the features I need. Also, tunecore's customer service takes foreeeever to respond to requests. I sent a message for an issue I needed fixed and forgot all about it until they just responded last week and this was submitted soo many months ago, so I guess since I had the free plan that's why they didn't give a crap to respond... so I guess I won't be getting a response to this new request of mine until who knows when... Thanks for the clarification Wes!!

I got the unlimited tunecore plan. Professional. For 49. I'm satisfied with it.

I thought Tunecore was the best. Considering Price as well as some of the hidden fees on distrokid are free on Tunecore, plus Tunecore has a reputation of having paid millions in royalties. You completely demolished Tunecore here😂😅 , I guess I'll just stick to Distrokid
