Uhhh, just the A-Twin and the BMW GS? Lol, how about the Super Tenere, Tiger, or the bloody KTM? You know, the other direct competitors.
Also, adjustable height makes it available to more riders? "Must be flat footed on both sides to ride" is such a FUD take. The Harley windscreen clever but also rattle trap trash.
Ridden all but the tenere, Harley is fun, I like it, its the best machine Harley has ever managed to produce (not saying much there), but KTM Adventure R wins hands down, every time.
This is more like an ad for the bike than a review . Anyone who knows the details will see the bias straight away , 😂
ОтветитьNot positive but I think suzuki was first to use the beak.
ОтветитьJust test road the pan America and loved it! It was the owners bike he was selling used for 25k, had some custom stuff but still a little too steep.
Sad but though, I was chatting with one of their mechanics and he actually started arguing with me that it technically wasn’t a Harley 🤦♂️
So frustrating to hear a Harley mechanic argue and say this and the sportster aren’t Harley’s
Ya da man
ОтветитьThey suck to much plastic ,and very heavy not comfortable at all .
ОтветитьHow could you not mention Triumph Tiger as a competitor?
ОтветитьOther competition is ktm super adventure
ОтветитьHey Shaun. Love the fact that you share scripture at the beginning of your videos. Great video. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the Pan America!
ОтветитьF’ me it’s hideous, fell out of the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down, climbed back up and fell down again, it’s that repugnant. As for competition ever heard of a multistrada?
ОтветитьThe Africa twin is a different class of adv bike imo. The Panam is aimed at stuff like the 1250GS, the tiger 1200, 1290 super adventure, and the multi V4. None of the Japanese big adv bikes really compete at the top end in terms of power, features, and attention to detail like the European bikes. The Panam is very much aimed at that top end euro adv market.
ОтветитьThat is the ugliest bike I have seen for a while! Was the creator drunk?? 😭😭
ОтветитьTurbo charge the pan America you won’t 😅
ОтветитьI've seen plenty of reviews on this bike. Most were negative. Problems with the fuel pump, battery charging (supposedly the battery doesnt charge at idle, the RPM'S have to be higher), kick stand is too narrow, radiator line touching the exhaust pipe, and "check engine" or code light on for supposedly no reason. I was looking at adventure bikes, but I will stay away from the Pan America for the next few years, til Harley fixes these issues
ОтветитьGreat review, and I really appreciate the scripture. God blessed you!
ОтветитьSweet bike and a great review.
ОтветитьI'll take the boring Japanese bike like DR650 than this .....
ОтветитьExcellent commentary
ОтветитьHd really nailed it on that design 👏 well done hd r&d team...
ОтветитьThey are huge, real works of art...
ОтветитьIm a x-bmw guy 2,
i prefer hd honestly,
I nvr thought i would. U gotta own one 2 understand 😊
I was at dealer yesterday. They said those are very popular and they move alot of them...
ОтветитьI met a guy on one, he had a bmw gs and said he thought this was superior, he luved his...😊
ОтветитьThose are very impressive 👏
ОтветитьCan't pass on the right over the solid white pal. Great way to get killed
ОтветитьHarley kinda invented what? The adventure bike? Com on!?
ОтветитьAt least you kept a 690 Duke for the camera. Of course, you would - because it's not a brick, like that Harley.
ОтветитьYou forgot to include the Triumph Tiger 1200 as a competitor.
ОтветитьWhat jacket are you wearing?
ОтветитьThere is no way I'd ever buy this unless I became braindead. I'd much rather own the KTM or the BMW. This is just for the typical Harley rider that got fatter and older.
ОтветитьAdventure bikes of all kinds are literally everywhere in Italy I just seen the pan America in person for the first time over there. Now that I'm back home I'm obsessed with the idea buying one
ОтветитьAs soon as I saw it was chain drive and not shaft drive I dismissed it as a no go. Big adventure touring bike should be shaft drive. And within bike weighing as much as it does already, if they added shaft drive it weigh way easily 20 lbs more. No thanks.
Ответить$$$! 😉
Ответитьjust buy a Mandello .
ОтветитьWhat are the service intervals like? HD used to require lots..
ОтветитьNice junk
ОтветитьI can appreciate Harley-Davidson moving into segments that have for far too long been neglected, which was one of the major turn-offs about them. For nearly four decades Harley-Davidson has focused solely on cruisers; granted they were partnered with Buell but Harley did not manufacture the bikes as a whole.
Now in full disclosure I grew up on Harley-Davidson and own a 59 XLCH. I have never been a big fan of the Evo bikes and have always preferred the older bikes. That said when they launched the V-rod I was impressed by the power and reliability. It was the bike that dethroned the Sportster as Harley's hotrod. People can say what they want about Sportsters but truth is they were light and fast before they started getting stretched out and turned into the economy/light-weight cruiser. My bike has a significantly shorter wheel-base compared to mid 70s thru pre-Sportster S models.
The last time Harley did anything with off road was in the late 70s when they made an entry into MX. During the AMF years they had dual-sport models but they were nothing more than rebadged Aermacchi bikes for the US market.
I like the Pan America and truthfully it makes sense for Harley to go after a piece of that pie. I just wish that Harley would take that platform and do a naked street-fighter version that would go head to head with the FTR of Indian. The FTR being designed after flat track race machines makes it a blank canvas for all kinds of performance riding styles. It can easily be made to give a nod to cafe racers, it can be made to fit the scrambler segment, or it can be dialed in for use in stunt riding. The Sportster S cannot without intense modification fill any of those roles. I think that the Pan America platform could.
Love my KLR650S but when it comes time to upgrade this may be the next step up
ОтветитьGood video but I would not trade my V-Strom 650
ОтветитьLooks like a piece of crap
ОтветитьTo sell them? Seems kinda obvious🤔🤔
ОтветитьA KTM 1290 Super Adventure R (160hp/487lbs) and a Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally (147HP/549lbs) are definitely competitors to this bike. I'd make the argument the Africa Twin competes closer with the 900cc Adventure class. The KTM Adventure R for instance has 5 more hp and 2 less ft-lb of torque.
ОтветитьYou should try the KTM
ОтветитьLove these Pan Ams, if I actually rode ADV, i'd grab one. Best HD i ever hopped on.
ОтветитьI think this was THE smartest move Harley has made in over 50 years. This is what riders want in 2023 according to Philly bike culture which influences the rest of the world and dirt bikes are in, so this enduro pleases everyone. It's legal, and defiant. I'm a re-entry rider after over 20 years and I'd LOVE to have the Rider School INCLUDED with the purchase of the bike, Sean.
ОтветитьI'm 27 and just took an MSF course and got the Pan America as my first motorcycle. Always disliked Harleys as I felt that they targeted the people that are now 45+ YO when it comes to design, but the Pan-Am is in it's own segment, nothing traditional to all other HD's line up. At first it felt terrifying, but within 100 miles it felt "Mine".
It's been 4 months and 2700 miles commuting around the Houston area and I absolutely love it. Besides my legs set to broil when sitting in traffic or at a light in this 110+ heat index weather. One warranty service bulletin that I had an issue with which took 2 weeks (9 business days waiting for a hose clamp and O-ring).
I look forward to riding anytime I get a chance. I can't wait to start hitting mountainous regions and offroad trails... As Texas is mostly flat, but you have to be a pro as the drivers here... are a different kind of breed.
I got my wife to also take the MSF Course and got her a 2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S and it's completely different. Almost like going from a Ford Raptor (Pan-Am) to driving a Ford Mustang (Vulcan S).
The twin africa is backed by yeaaaars of R&D backed races. It has been put into the harshest environments and driven to its extremes. I reckon when You buy a twin, you buy an industractable machine.
ОтветитьI hate the front of that bike, I would just rip it off and put something there that didn't look like shit. Her body is a ten but that face is ugly as sin....
Ответитьthis is new buell ulysses
ОтветитьToo bad it's such a steaming pile of overpriced unreliable HD crap! I bought a 21 hoping it would be awesome, nope turd, traded in on a 22 hoping bugs worked out, nope bigger pile of crap, overpriced underdeveloped piles of garbage! HD lets the R&D for these things be financed by the consumer, they are fun when they run but otherwise a nightmare, just sold my 22 and took an absolute bath getting rid of it, strangely I am relieved to have it out of my garage and detached from my bank account! Sorry Harley swing and a big whiff! I am after many years and many bikes officially done with HD after my PA disasters. Don't walk run run run from these!
