Wow, this guy sucks! 😂 VoX!?!??!> 😂
ОтветитьI bought the 6 button foot switch for my DSL40CR, and man, it's a game changer. It more than doubles the versatility of that amplifier.
ОтветитьPeavey "Rock Master" !! Greatest Amp ever! Hard to find, worth looking for.👋
ОтветитьHey man, how are you setting up the amp channels with pedals? Are you using the other channels or just that clean/crunch and then some pedals? Like if I'm gonna do a metallica cover...and then a Nirvana song or two...I'm wonder how to configure this stuff. I do have the 6-way switch. Are you mainly just using one channel when playing live and not swapping out much?
ОтветитьLate to this party...but none of those amp made Rabea and Danish Pete wet their pants like the Hamstead Artist 20/60's did. My son just got one...amazing tone...need to get my own some day. Got a new ToneKing Imperial MkII to satisfy this new boutique amp itch...didn't work....added the CreamBack used in the Hampstead...improved the TK's tone for my taste...STILL not as magnificent as my son's Hamstead. Did sell my Blues Jr a few days ago (w/Western Tolex and C.Rex speaker...nice but not likely to get much action with TK in the house.).
ОтветитьOrange shits on all of them
ОтветитьMarshall 😮😢
ОтветитьWhat's the traynor ycv 80 like any one know ??
ОтветитьI have the fender deluxe reverb vintage 1965 (not the reissue) hard to replacing it . I really debating for the two rock signature .
ОтветитьYes I still got one, the Fender Mustang v2 III And still sounds so good and is so versatile in any situation. I also bought a Fender Blues Deluxe (reissue) but the emulation on the Mustang V2 is so good, also in low volume that I prefer to take the Mustang also because I have no good working pedalboard. Without pedals I can't really get the sound out of the Fender Blues Deluxe were I am after and at home I can't kook the valves but found a solution to that that I still have to try
Ответитьthank you!!!
ОтветитьAND the best amplifier award goes to..... a milk crate.
hear me out.
you can lift the amp and put it on top, closer to your ears and the drummer. makes it louder, no need to upgrade.
you can tilt the amp back on the crate, give you the tone sweet spot but it still couples with the floor and if open back has different frequency shifts. no need to upgrade your gear.
and 3rd option for the milk crate is for sitting on yourself. you only do this after a long jam, and a long jam means a productive one. it means you didnt make an excuse to get away. it means you are happy with your lot in life.
My 1985 JCM 800 is by far my favorite of all times
ОтветитьI would have to say always been a band Master guy will assorted cabinets and speakers but my music man HD 130 would be the one I'd want back if I ever could have it I'm Social Security now so I doubt it'll ever happen
ОтветитьBut U need good quality players. U don't no how to set up amps. Just as a thumbs up
ОтветитьHard to believe this is your list
ОтветитьI'm seriously considering a Traynor YCV40WR with a Vintage 30 as stock. Slays a HRD
ОтветитьI heard the fender "reissue series" As great as they sound are not super well built competent wise so if you bought a brand new one and its warranty is about to run out maybe blow it up on purpose LOL just crank it 24/7 till it blows LOL unless like you barely used it and you might not be able to blow it up on time so...idk
ОтветитьI owned a Marshall JCM 800 with twin 12” speakers. Sold it when I needed money. Regretted ever since! 😢
ОтветитьWhat? Only 9? Dang man You start getting into this many amps as the best of all time lists You either got to go large or small I mean come on nine?
ОтветитьSolid video as always! I own the blues deluxe and its a monster. I even decided to ditch the stock speaker… twice. Both speakers that i chose were killer, g12m 65 creamback , then went to the swamp thang. At first the creamback didnt seem to have that massive low end response so i put that into another amp but after it broke in the creamback is now easily my favorite speaker, i have 2 of them. One thing i will say about the amp, and keep in mind ive got a bad back, that amp is pretty damn heavy now, especially with the ST. Also- contradictory to what Shane thinks, I really love the drive channel !! I usually put it around noon and hit it with an OD, love it. I have Mesas, and other amps for other flavors of crunch but the blues deluxe has this really unique “fuzzy” drive that is just fun to play!!
Traynor's are a real sunken treasure.
ОтветитьI was under the impression VOX AC's were mid forward.
ОтветитьGreat choices. So many amps, so little time. One of my favorites I have had was a Laney VC30 2x10. I wish I still had it.
ОтветитьAs a fellow guitar player/idiot, I can say I regret getting rid of some great gear over the years. Amazing how the grass is always greener... Only to want back what you once had. Lol.
ОтветитьMarshall DSL is just epic !!!!
ОтветитьHot rod and katana fall to Mustang? It’s all good. If I had back the money I lost by reselling my gear I would have anything I wanted x 2.
ОтветитьI just picked up a yorkville Traynor yvm-1
ОтветитьThe Traynor 40 is a great amp. Period
ОтветитьHello I would like to buy an amp to play Stevie Ray Vaughan or Pink Floyd would you have any idea please I have a budget of 700 €
ОтветитьPeavey classic 212 from the early '90s without effects loop! Badass....
ОтветитьMy favorite amp is none.
ОтветитьI've owned multiple Traynor amplifiers, and I can't say enough good about them! I bought a YCS50H awhile back and can get a ridiculous amount of sounds out of it. Great amps!
ОтветитьFor a few years, I've favored Yamaha g series II amps. The g100 210 II has 2 Celestion alnico gold 10s and it is the cleanest amp I've ever played. Put a zendrive, klon, and a nobels odr-1 thru it and you cover all your drive staples for a wonderfully versatile amp
ОтветитьGas!
ОтветитьShow more amp less face
Ответить1962 Vox ac 30 twin and super twin with JMI twin or four twelves Not blue celestions) was a great set up
Ответить9??? Only have to say, Fender Tween, Marshall, Vox. Mesa. Enough.
ОтветитьHi Shane hope you're keeping well,I have the same DSL as yourself and was wondering if you could send me the link to where you got your speaker ,I also find it a little bit bright on the top end compared to my hot rod deluxe,
Cheers
Kind regards
Sean
I think I nailed the spot on Google maps where the background image on the monitor behind Shane is taken. It's from the countryside of southern Sweden. Have you been there yourself, Shane?
ОтветитьAnyone coming from a Fender type amp will find the Two Rock comparatively dark. It happened to me but now think my Two Rock is my favorite of all time. The older Two Rocks, like the Studio Pro, are much darker than the newer offerings.
ОтветитьDeluxe Reverb or Blues Deluxes?
ОтветитьThe best amp I’ve ever owned hands down is my current amp, the Friedman Smallbox 50 combo. I’ve had various classic Marshall,Fender,Ampeg,Hiwatt, Garnet, Laney etc amps, but the Friedman is just better. Hard to get it to sound bad . Nice portable size, if you prefer the spread of a stack, just plug it through your 4x12s. Great master volume too.
ОтветитьI knew that you loved the Bandit's! The crazy thing is Hartley Peavey is still out there doing it!
ОтветитьThe Supersonic 60 is my favorite amp I've ever played through. In addition to what you pointed out, it also has great spring reverb, and if you push the bassman clean a bit, you get a gorgeous warm bluesy crunch. Of course, it's also ball crushingly loud ( It's a 60 watt Fender, what do you expect?), which is why I didn't buy it. Home player here- this was extreme overkill for that. (and my apartment walls were so thin, if I sneezed, my neighbor would yell bless you!) I can't believe Fender stopped making them...
In second place is the Blues Deluxe. Again, a wicked good clean channel, with the tweedy vibe, that sounds awesome when you push it hard. Takes pedals very nicely, too. (One afternoon, the store happened to have a used Fulltone '69 fuzz pedal, and I tried it with this amp. Just to see how much it had under the hood, I dimed the fuzz knob, and hit an open E chord. The resulting ROAR damn near blew me off my stool! We're talking full on Rawk Gawd territory here!) I use it as an index sound for trying out guitars, if the store has one available.
In third, we have the Peavey Classic 30/Delta Blues amps. Great sounding amps- they can "do" the Fendery clean and crunch thing AND they can do some pretty heavy distortion of their own- no pedals needed. Great spring reverb, and the Delta Blues models have a really nice tremolo, too. Best of all, they didn't cost a lot.
The Dark Horse is Fender's Excelsior. A one trick pony, but it's a real lulu. Very old school vintagey sound- and the tremolo... It was worth the purchase price just for that.
I also give the Mustang III; the Superchamp X2, and the Bassbreaker 15 two big thumbs up, too. The Bassbreaker made me put all my dirt pedals away. Not needed! No fiddly bits- just standard amp controls, reverb, and a gain stage selector. Plug and play. Crank the master, and use your guitar's volume to control the overall volume- and it gives me THAT sound, the one in my head!
Ultimate bucket list amp: A brownface Deluxe or Pro amp. See Johan Segeborn's video about the series to hear why. Or an actual 59 bassman.
Laney Ironheart rack mount amp for me.Amazing glassy cleans that smoke a Fender.
I have had everything from Marshall 2204 s to Boogies to Fenders, Two Rock and Divided by 13, Soldano you name it I have had it.
The two I play most right know are the Laney Ironheart and a Blackstar studio 20 both sound fantastic.
Both sound great thru every cab I have which is quite varied.
Have you ever used a LAB series?
