my shifting works perfectly, but i can hear some ticking and clicking... any ideas? i dont want to mess my gear changes...
ОтветитьThanks man great vid
ОтветитьI have a question. i had my bike check to a pro due to its shifting problems he said my cable housing are too soft because its not branded or it may be old is that true? that it can affect my shifting problems?? because even the cables are tight it still having a hard time to shift to a bigger cogs.
ОтветитьGreat Video. Clear explanation & good information.
ОтветитьThanks a lot, very helpful :-)
ОтветитьThanks for this! Very clear.
ОтветитьA must see video. Extremely clear shots and really well explained. It's so good that you only need to see it once.
Ответитьwish i found your vid first!!!
Ответитьyou fiddled with the screws? the limiter screws will affect how far either up or down the cassette your derailleur will move at its most extreme
Ответитьthanks for posting
ОтветитьThis worked for me! Was thinking about taking bike to shop, but sorted myself following watching video. I liked the clarity and even the repetition which conolidated what to do. Many Thanks.
ОтветитьREALLY good video...I could listen to this guy all day long.
ОтветитьStrokerman01 It sounds like your derailleur might have two problems. The cable could be too loose or too tight, and the limiter screws for high and low gear have been changed and are limiting travel in the direction you want them to go. If you turned either of the two small screws in or out, then that is probably at least one of the causes of the problem. A close inspection of things should help to see exactly what is happening.
Ответитьgood job
ОтветитьMechanics spend 20 minutes doing the front derailleur? not a good mechanic, huh?
ОтветитьWow, 9 minutes to learn how adjust a barrel adjuster. Great work, really worthwhile!
ОтветитьGood job.
ОтветитьVery clear and easy to understand how derail can be adjusted! Awesome pro!
ОтветитьI found this helpful, easy to understand.
ОтветитьNice hubs!
Ответитьi don't have a barrel adjuster on my Derailleur, its on my shifter (SRAM SX5)
Do the same rules apply 'Turning the barrel adjuster clockwise moves the rear Derailleur down the cassette.
Counter clock wise moves it up the cassette?
cheers
Sweet vid. Sweeter ponytail.
ОтветитьRather confused. I used to fix bikes and the adjusting the front derailleur is one of the easiest to adjust because you don't have to worry about index shifting and very fine tuning like on the rear.
Or are you referring to INSTALLING a front derailleur, clamping on the seat tube, alighning along with the chain, adjust the stop screws, attaching the cable and fine tuning?
Typical over-complication of the easiest things on the bike to adjust. I can't wait to make vids of my day to day repairs when I see dudes like this.
ОтветитьThank you, your video really helped!
Ответитьthanks for talking straight up.Too many hipster / me so cool - videos out there and still not explaining the very basics of what it is that they are describing. Keep it up!
ОтветитьGreat video, the tips on barrel nut rotation at the rear derailleur are very handy. Agree, the front is trickier than the rear. Thanks!
ОтветитьReally great tips here, thanks!
ОтветитьAdjusting the tension on the barrel adjuster first, instead of immediately adjusting the High/Low on the rear derailleur saved me a ton of time. Thanks for posting this video.
ОтветитьVery good and clear
ОтветитьExcellent presentation and tutorial.
ОтветитьGreat video really helped me. 😀
Ответитьbla bla bla..boring explanation
Ответитьthanks allot,🙂 helpful tutorial
ОтветитьWhat do you do if it went inside the wheel when riding
ОтветитьI used to think that cables actually stretched as well. So it turns out cables do not stretch at all! I know, I was like really? can you imagine if the cables on a suspension bridge actually stretched? Metal will fatigue and crack or break but it doesn't stretch. With regard to bicycle cables, housings and ferals tend to seat or get worn out. 👍
ОтветитьWat moet ik doen als de derailleur niet haaks op het wiel staat?
ОтветитьThanks! You helped me fixed my bike!
ОтветитьOne of the best bike mechanic video I've seen yet. Straight forward with simplicity for ordinary cycling folks.
ОтветитьWhat is the little Round clip thing that goes on the drop out it has a small opening
ОтветитьMine was put together at the store (it's all messed up), so please, I need to know from ground up, where 'all' the adjustments need to begin with. Other words, which derailleur first and it's adjustment(s) beginning where? I haven't seen this in the few videos I've watched. Thanks
ОтветитьGreat instruction; however, can you include where all the others adjustments which I call a base line need to be when I finally address these set screws and barrel adjustments. For example, I have also a barrel adjustment on my down tube not mentioned; as well, the 'B' screw because If this down tube barrel adjuster is all the way in or out, won't that influence the rest of the settings? So, where should I begin having all the adjustments set at, as a base line for me to begin?
ОтветитьI have a bike with barrel adjusters at front and rear. when setting up the indexing & cable tension with the chain on the smallest cog, should both barrels be screwed all the way in? Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьFabulous gears etc nice bike so clean
Ответитьexcellent
ОтветитьMy bike’ s manufacturer’s instruction booklet mentions the high/low limit and indexing adjustments on both the front and rear derailleurs but has no mention of these ‘fine tuning’ in-line adjustments situated , like your demo, also the concentric gear selector on the handlebars or how they operate. So firstly thanks for taking a step-through of that process. Secondly, demonstrating those familiar fault symptoms together with the key, audible clues are further help to assessment and diagnosis and where to focus ones attention.
ОтветитьIt's a place to poop in the woods.
ОтветитьNot a mention of the limit screws adjustment..... Thought that was important to do first.
