A Rivalry of PURE HATRED... (The History Mississippi State vs Ole Miss aka The Egg Bowl)

I'm a Bama fan and have always loved watching the Egg Bowl. The State dude hiking his leg is the funniest thing I've ever seen in a rivalry game or in fact any college game. 😂

As an ole Miss fan that lives 90 miles from Baton Rouge, I never considered state our biggest rival. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As a ole miss fan watching the rebels fight for the Golden egg has been a passion since I was little seen a lot of great games in the series im super happy where coach kiffin has gotten us so far under his tenure can't wait to see whats in store in the future HOTTY TODDY ❤💙❤💙

I’ve been an Ole Miss fan since 1982, and I’ve seen it all. Now with Coach Lane Kiffin, we are breaking school records. I’ve been to one Egg Bowl game (it was in Starkpatch). I’ve NEVER seen hatred like I did at that game. Someone in the stands actually spat on me because I was cheering for Ole Miss.That Egg Bowl trophy sure looks good in Oxford 🔴🏈🔵

My 2 favorite college rivalry are the Ole Miss and Mississippi state rivalry plus the Florida State and Florida rivalry

Could you do one on UNLV vs UNR to see who wins the fremont cannon? I know it's not a very big one but theres a lot of bad blood and the games are usually really competitive.

Why are Mississippi and Mississippi State's stadiums so small compared to other SEC stadiums (not counting Vanderbilt and Kentucky)

I was at the 2019 game and when I saw “the piss”. I looked at my cousin, who’s an MSU fan and said “That cost us the game.” On the way back to the car, I almost got into a fight with a MSU drunken fan. Luckily it got broken up.

as a state fan and watching the egg bowl every year, it is the strongest most heated rivalary in college football. more so than the iron bowl or alabama and tennessee

Other than providing knee jerk reaction with a woke generation that only sees racism in everything yet simple. In fact the University of Mississippi has gone so overboard with it's own woke craft The Rebels should be RINOS Rebels in Name Only. I haven't been to game there since Billy Brewer was HC. But the Ole Miss hater is you along with a large population of the world and I'm trapped defending something where loyalty still has spot in my heart against your world. I thought I would rise to a Thanksgiving morning rather peacefully.

TRADITION is now dead in today's world. Soon the SEC will have all 50 states in the conference. Then the greatest rivalry will be: BUCKNELL BUCKS v RICHMOND SPIDERS! We here in Tennessee, however always have had the CLOSEST games in our rivalry; Vanderbilt v Tennessee; always a barn-burner! Those Tennessee VOLES (aka volunQUEERS) pretty scary bunch, aren't they.

I live in Starkville, and I had a teacher who hated Ole Miss. She didn't care about the athletics, she hated them because in a poor state the two schools were always competing for resources, and Ole Miss was always running down MSU.

The animosity started post civil war era. The scalawags from Jones County got the upper hand by not supporting the Confederate state whom were on the low end of economy when wealth was there and had to compete with slavery then on political struggle with the freedom for all. The reconstruction era brought into land granted institution the A&Ms for the sole purpose of elevating free African Americans but somehow the Bilbo crowd found the need to segregate not just the African American but the once labeled Burbons that still florished notibly the planters. They found a home in Starkville during the segregation and competition in athletics fueled the animosity between the planter and share croppers. The African Americans got caught up with an old White man's feud when they started being recruited at State in the late 1960s then Ole Miss 1970s. What started out as class envy later became inciting racial animosity in a contact sport and the worse was Jackie Sherrill.

The Florida-Georgia rivalry used to be my favorite, but I feel like it's lost some of its intensity over the past decade.

There's really only one game left in College Football that is played on Thanksgiving left unless Texas and Texas A&M do it again.

My favorite football rivalry is the brawl of the wild (Montana vs Montana State)

I remember watching that 2019 game with my dad and when Ole Piss missed the PAT, we both fell out laughing. I was talking hella crap for weeks after that telling all my ole piss friends that they deserved that loss and they brought it on themselves.
