DJI FPV Goggles & Vista/Air Unit Won't Bind ? - DJI's Firmware Mess Explained

This is terrible! why is the controller 2 compatible with the caddx.. but ONLY if you have the goggles 2 and not the goggles v2? My brain is not compatible to this logic!

OK. I had my DJI Goggles V2 Bound to Protek25 Cadxx Vista V01.00.608. Then I upgraded Goggles V2 to latest firmware so I can bind to Avata. Now I cannot re-bind to Protek25. What firmware version of Goggles V2 do I need to be able to connect both to Caddx Vista and New DJI 03 AIR unit?

Do I even need the DJI remote or can I just run V2s with the vista/ air unit light and my Radio Master controller? I just bought the Night Eagle HD and would like to use it with the goggles V2.

This shit is such a pain in the ass dude. I’m on the verge of just saying forget all this crap. Idk why I even got back into this money pit ass hobby

Great video & very informative but wow what a mess. I recently upgraded my V2 goggles to the latest firmware along with a new air unit I purchased but now my old DJI remote won't work, I then downgraded the air unit back to vol.00.0608 to match my radio but I can't seem to downgrade my goggles. Is there something I can do or am I having to purchase the new DJI radio? Thank you & I look forward to any advice you can give me, this is so frustrating.

If you ever wondered if DJI was for making a dollar, giving a damn or making a difference we have our answer. As they continue adding more incompatible crap, this stinks when you spend all day working on something you think you did wrong that was simply a result of piss poor planning by a corporation. They should have let the hobby develop organically with time developed support if they were not gonna at least add consistency along the way. Sell the branch off to the hobbyists!! I'm sure you have enough other stuff in development.

I can't even downgrade firmware :( I got totally sucked into the dji avata system and now I can use the controller with older units! wtf

Not sure really where to start with all this crap but I’m going to try I have dji v2 goggles caddx vista nebula pro for the camera set up so the other day had an issue with the camera sent it back. They gave me a brand new one same camera and transmitter you would think you put it back in the aircraft and bind it to the goggles and you’re good to go, but with me not so good with computers I wish I would’ve left the same firmwear in my goggles, but I didn’t while I was waiting for the camera to come into the mail. I downloaded the latest firmware to the goggles, which is the beginning to all of my problems and frustrations. when I first hooked everything up, I did get the camera and the goggles to bind and I video but the goggles was not recording I had it set up in the goggles so when you first turned it on it started to record so it wasn’t doing that. so you get out and you watch all of these videos such as yours and realize certain firmware in the goggles won’t work with this camera. Long story short now I have no video nothing power to the camera no problem green light comes on and that’s it. The firmware that you mentioned in this video I do not see it on my computer when I go to that website either one of them. (Fpv series.) or ( consumer drone series) I heard something about a new update for DJI assist. Not sure what that’s all about but right now I don’t know which way to turn. I tried DJI support and that was such a freaking joke. Maybe you know what direction I need to go in to get this matter resolved. I really would appreciate some help, thanks Steve

I just purchased a drone with the RunCam Link Wasp. Is it still so that I will have to activate it via the old DJI Assistant 2 (FPV Series)? Then I can upgrade to the latest firmware with the Consumer Drone Series? I am using Integra goggles.

God... so helpful. Hwy does it have to be SUCH a mess with all of this?!
I am going to update my goggles V2 now and hope to still be able to use my caddy vista as well as my O3.

There is no DJI assistant 2 on the App Store. Am i missing something?

I have V2 googles and several vistas with the fcc hack.
I did not root the googles but i will do now.
I wait for Ifligh AOS 6s with 03 air unit

I wonder in my case how should i proceed with the fcc, root and the new 03

I will need max power to all of my guads and if i switch from vista to 03 and lose every hack it will be really annoying

What can you recomend me how should i proceed

Your title is very correct! It is definitely a firmware mess... rather than getting new models every few months nowadays, not once a year like before, they should take care for making it a bit easier with the firmware and think things through. Really terrible! But thanks to your video, I might be able to make my v2 goggles work with my vista and my o3...

Hi, thanks for the clarifications, if I may, I have a question: say I have the old Dji Goggles V2 and perform the upgrade to the latest version in order to use them with O3 air units, will I still be able to use those Goggles together with the DJI FPV drone and it's original controller?

wish i had seen this a few weeks ago. got an O3 at a killer price and decided to install it into a new 7" build, finding out this binding issue now =/ luckily the O3 in my build is very easily accessible to rebind each time if/when i go fly it...ill take the WTF hack for now...BUT if this was in a different quad where it wasnt an easy push of the button id def have even more bitter "feels" =/

Good day mate I can get my remote to work on the latest firmware but not goggles if I upload if I upload the 0608 firmware the goggles work but not the controller. Can ya help me out? Thanks.

I've had the WTFOS installed on my V2s and they are rooted, can I use the V2s with the Caddix Vista air units if I had to update the DJI side to use my Avata? I did the update to the latest (Yesterday) and I was able to just put the WTFOS and packages back on the DIY side and all seems good.

My problem is as i have fw 0606 on my v2 goggles and matching on the air unit, after replacing the fc stack i get no further transmission (black) and 'transmission signal stopped' shown.
Everything worked perfectly before with the 2 hacks..
Any advice or solutions desperately needed..cheers Ian

Thank you for your help once again mate. I'm astonished that after 6 months they still have not resolved the loosing the binds issue. I have the v2 but don't want to take apart quads to get them rebound again. I thought this long on, they would have sorted this out lol. Blooming DJI :(

Maybe i missed it, but..

If i upgrade a vista to the latest “O3” firmware, could i use it on the v2 goggles in O3 mode?
Then you don’t need to switch modes and lose your bind every time you go from a O3 to a vista or the Avata.

Is there a fpv goggle that is compatible with ALL the different HD camera/transmitter units?

I just got my integra goggles. Tried to bind with my DJI FPV drone but no luck. Switched over to fpv air unit in setting but still not connecting.

Why do you call it DYI mode, that's not a mode I see in the goggles?

Does the O3 also have the stop record - slow SD issue?

Simply put : just upgrade all your quads to O³ and Goggle 2 / Integra 😅

They needa fix the bind loss issue for V2’s and switching between O3/Vista!

But the FCC 1200mw mode is only allowed by the location where your goggles is, the firmware will be update when u move to another country and follow the local law(for E.X: China Mainland is SRRC 700mw)

@MadRC hi, a couple of friends all fly with latest Googles and remote 2, some have no problem, 3 have random rx loss followed by failsafe at just a couple of meters away. Do you have any idea why this could be happening ? All using latest firmware.
