Another cheap way to do it, when they forbid you from getting more paint sticks, is to use a piece of cedar fencing from a big box store. They come in 1x6" s x 6' long for around 3 bucks. You usually have to sand or plane them down because they are pretty rough. No need to stain them, they reveal their beauty after you hit them with clear or lacquer. Just a thought! By the way, using paint sticks is a great idea!
