I'd wish to see a comparison of Black Magic vs Canon C200

Lots of great info in here, except the dynamic range......Is there any way you or if you know someone that actually tested the dynamic range on these? Slight shaded areas requires very little. No one seems to show pushing the camera to how dark shadows or bright highlights they can retain/recover. Always seems to be generally normal conditions. When trying to get an idea of cameras to try out, general minor shaded and non bright areas don't help. Or if to your eyes maybe it was super dark and if you couldn't show it because the camera was so awesome at retaining so much detail making it look not so dark even with the before log view.....then would be helpful to add a different photo on top or the side to show how dark or bright the area actually was.

It's boring as hell watching these creators obsess over low light exposures when they should be expanding their skills with lighting science.

I generally have a conclusion about the camera that it works much better when shooting 50 fps than 24... the blurr effect reduces sharpness of the image dramatically. I tested 60fps with 200% speed and it's still fine. What is your experience about it? Also when switching from 24 fps to 50 there are some automatic changes of settings. DO you have any advice how to deal with that? When an object/face is moving in 24 the blurr is killing the sharpness massively. When 50fps is on the footage is absolutely fine and cinematic like.

A few days ago somebody recommended that I forget about buying a canon or Sony mirror less body, but go for this camera. I have a few questions regarding some of the technicals you mentioned. Since this is more of a film camera, as you mentioned, there isn't continuous autofocus like canon cameras or other bodies because it isn't made for v logging, however can I use this camera for filming let's say music covers? Documentary filmmaking? Lots of outdoor run and gun work or would you prefer I go for a Canon or Sony instead? What is the max record time it can shoot before the battery or memory run out? Would yiu use the 4k, 6k, or 6k pro on a dji gimbal or a canon is better for the follow focus, if you don't have a focus puller or focus controls? Even if the c70 is a totally different camera, would you prefer it over the black magic for documentary filmmaking since it has clog?

The thing I can't wrap my head around about this camera, is the weird ass decision to make it into the shape of a camera that's intended for photography. The shape of the camera is intended for you to hold it up to your eye for point and shoot, nobody in their right mind actually shoots video like that. The second thing is, while sure cinema is in the name; your talent won't feel extremely confident on shooting day, when they asked for 6k/8k footage 12+bit on RAW and you show up with a very consumer esque "pocket camera". I bought one of these used, tried to work around it's odd caviats and ended up selling it just to get it out of my sight. I replaced it with a Sony FS5 MK2 and all the problems I had magically disappeared. Perfectly balanced ergonomics meant for video, even with a fat lens right out of the box. I get more "oooohs and ahhhs" from my setup rather than questionable looks and doubt, the controls and ease of use completely poop on the BM hands down. If this is claiming 20+ megapixels then the megapixels in my Sony must be pretty goddamn special because it has about half that and somehow can look just as good if not better. The Sony might cost a couple hundred more depending what you can find but considering the Bm will get you $500 jobs and the Sony will get you $5000 jobs, it doesn't matter.

It's called CINEMA Camera, not Vloggin Cam! Ofc you could get a set to vlog but why is that hard to get, this cam is made for a production and needs a set to get the best it can!

did you shoot in raw (with no post noise reduction), because I see alot of noise in all the clips? didn't see it in other videos of the bmpcc 6k pro. Getting all scared now to buy this camera haha
