You looked at the meats but did not mention lamb. Here in the UK, NZ lamb is always on sale in supermarkets and is relatively cheap. I guess you don't consider lamb when buying meat.
ОтветитьOne cup cream and 1/4 cup (real) maple syrup poured in slowly while whipping. Amazing on apple or pumpkin pie!
Ответитьor we just buy canned Tomatoes :D
Ответить$20-$22 for a chicken?? Damn. I get a big juicy cooked rotisserie chicken here in the USA for $7. The NZ one is probably healthier, but when you have a family to feed, you have to be able to afford basic food...
As an ex-kiwi the food I miss the most is mince n cheese pies, custard square, vogels bread, raspberry slice and passionfuit!
Also I do miss NZ cheese. American cheese has no flavor in my opinion
Foods not expensive here it's just good so it might cost a bit more .....but it's real food. Simple as that. And I rather eat our expensive food than genetically modified tasteless crap.
ОтветитьMonterey jack will be in the deli section definitely ...oh and ketchup sucks..
ОтветитьWow, you pointed out a lady in a onsie. I've SEEN the videos of people shopping in Walmart! Pots, kettles?
Ответитьdear Tara:Have you checked the price of Pacific code there?Granny Smith is my fav.apple.Are there any fresh red currants being sold there?
ОтветитьTry "All Gold Tomato Sauce" in the International Isle.....South Africa. You can get it at Pak n Save too or at one of the South African shops :) really good! ;)
ОтветитьIs the cost proportionate to what jobs pay there, or is in one of those countries where you make like 1 million of their currency per month, so paying 22 on a chicken isn't a big deal?
ОтветитьGreat stuff from American Ladies view on New Zealand (Aotearoa) Food Products at a chosen Grocery Store...🛒👍.
ОтветитьYou live in Wellington. Where, who knows, Do your grocery shopping at MOORE WILSONS, one in the city, one out at Porirua. Expensive but best there is. When we lived in Tawa, all our grocery shopping was done there. try it.
ОтветитьThe girl with the cow outfit. That's hot.
ОтветитьWhy would anyone from the USA, the land of plenty and choices, want to move all the way down to New Zealand and pay these exorbitant prices?… Prices triple or quadruple because fruits and vegetables are “out of season”?… That’s outrageous!… Lower salary, higher prices & less choices are all lose, lose and lose some more for Americans in New Zealand!
ОтветитьWe are in papatoetoe ak, and our corner dairy sells 2x2ltr milk for $6 :), tray of size 6 eggs (30) for $6 too....
ОтветитьMake your own pavlova
Yeah Right 🤣
Good luck with that one. No way out will come out the same as the shop ones. 🤣
I actually thought we had a good selection of breakfast cereals. But when you said 6 ailes of cereal I was gobsmacked! 🤯 Don't know if that was an exaggeration 🤔
ОтветитьOh the cream! It’s so great to watch your videos as I relate to what you are saying. I’ve been living in upstate NY since 2006 and totally understand what you’re experiencing with what’s available here in the USA compared to my home country NZ. Some good things and some not so good things. For the cream, I totally understand as first time I was introduced to miracle whip I couldn’t believe people liked it so much. I secretly was disgusted people would use fake whipped cream instead of fresh cream in NY for desserts. I was so shocked and thought how cheap and gross to consume miracle whip but it’s just so commonly used in NY I had to accept it will be around for a long time yet hahaha and to know when offered cream it was the miracle whip not freshly whipped. I still make my own freshly whipped cream which people enjoy here. I’ve found it interesting how NZ doesn’t have much to do with half and half products still as it’s very popular elsewhere in other countries available for coffee. I think once kiwis try it out they will love it for their coffee but then again many kiwis drink granular coffee not filtered. Filtered coffee is a delicious and delightful to get in NY everyday! I’m spoilt and feel posh being able to get freshly grounded coffee for just 99cents at Cumberland Farms or Stewart’s.
Keep up the great videos! It’s nice to feel connected in one way that I wasn’t the only one noticing all the many differences kiwi vs NEw York American
Lols, late to the party but it was hilarious during the Mac and Cheese part when it was reveal that the box was made in Australia, you've really adapted to the Kiwi thinking in that part :P oh and the Marmite one too
ОтветитьIn Ontario, they sell beer in liquor stores. But, there's also separate beer stores owned by the breweries. You can also buy beer and wine in some grocery stores, but not all. In Quebec, you can buy beer and wine in every grocery store, also in convenience stores like 7-11. Chantal is a bit off base here, as each Canadian province has different liquor laws.
Ответитьwhere is that New World. Does not look like Wellington.
ОтветитьI miss feijoa and kumara. I don't know why they won't grow them in the U.S.
ОтветитьBrit here living in New Zealand. Love your videos.
ОтветитьI miss the variety in the U.S stores that you can not get here - especially the deli hot food and all the salad packs that are more affordable - Cheetos do not taste the same here - Can not find a 'diet' cherry Dr Pepper here so will have at least one regular Dr Pepper cherry every 3 months. Maybe that's a good thing otherwise i'd be chugging it every day.
ОтветитьHmm, I didn't realise that about alcohol in NZ grocery stores. In Australia, it is legal in most states (except two) to sell alcohol in grocery stores but you typically have to go to a separate store (there's usually one right next to the supermarket) to get your alcohol.
I've heard in the US, it varies by state.
If really want it ask your supermarket manager and they might try to get it in but don't be surprised if they can't but they have done things like that in the past
ОтветитьSeeing the cost of food there makes me appreciate food ...Even inspired me to plant a fruit garden and vegetablegarden !
ОтветитьLol onesie 🤯 making us look like f wits
ОтветитьYes would like to see more mullets please
ОтветитьGo to the warehouse for milk it's $3, New world is the most expensive supermarket we have in New Zealand. Go to pak n save for cheap food.
ОтветитьMilk and in fact, all dairy products are very expensive over here in NZ.
ОтветитьGrocery to much expensive Nwe Zealand and US ...
ОтветитьThe label will most likely say 'beef mince' as it's literally minced beef. But you can have chicken mince, pork mince etc so be aware of that. Mincing is more the process the said meat has gone through. Your welcome 🙂
....Oh n you don't wana get started on the dairy industry in NZ, it's large enough to have a measurable political influence..😳🤯 Our main dairy company, Frontera, is one of the largest in the world. Top 5 I believe.
Pre cooked Frankfurts should always be boiled in hot water to make them hot. Tip don't.take the skins off. If they split suck it up.
New Zealand's famous for their sausage rolls and meat pies? Please everyone knows they can't beat us Aussies lol. Same goes.for the pav we still do it better 🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact, Kraft was originally Australian owned. Now Bega is the superior brand lol.
You mised the best part, the seafood!!!!
Ответитьif you see how hamburger meat is made it is not mince. I always giggle that we now that we have a american foods section in the foreign foods aisle.
ОтветитьBuying at markets for fruit and vege, mad butcher for meat, couplands for breads and milk is cheaper. You learn to shop around. New World and Fresh Choice are expensive supermarkets.
ОтветитьNZ has the most expensive groceries in the OECD plain and simple, for no other reason that it is profiteering by the duopoly
ОтветитьHey guys, can get a BIG jar of creamer at Countdown here in the Sth Island.
Bought it when all the shortages started in case milk becomes scarce ;)
Enjoy !! No more cold coffees
Perhaps you should mention that New World is the most upmarket supermarket we have in NZ.
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention, prices have quadrupled since making this video
ОтветитьVery interesting, only Ontario Canada has a Beer Store, but you can buy beer in the Liquor store and many grocery stores. Different provinces have different rules. Most states in the USA have beer and wine for sale in grocery stores.
ОтветитьNo, in canada you can get beer at liquor stores.
ОтветитьAs country with so much cattle per Capita why milk so expensive (to north America)?
ОтветитьU are shopping at New World So it's going to be expensive so go to pak n save
ОтветитьI want to know what movie theaters er, sorry, cinemas are like in NZ.
ОтветитьWhere I live we trade food or give it away if we have an extra amount.I have swapped my fresh apples in return for apple pulp pies .😅
ОтветитьIf you want cheaper milk to the warehouse. New World is over priced. Pak n save is the cheapest supermarket. Woolworths supermarket is in the middle priced.
ОтветитьBest to grow your own vegies or look for a community garden. My grandchild loves gardening with me, he plants his own vegies and he is only 5yr old. Last of all you need to shop at pak n save way cheaper.
Ответить
