I thought they flew over the racetrack two times ? Saw some footage where they did a Formation split over the racetrack so I thought they did that on time with the anthem?

Best wishes Mover. PIO is definitely a thing, even - funnily enough on cherry pickers. I explained PIO to the instructor when I was renewing my ticket, as one of the new new guys were bouncing around on the boom like crazy. The QI said he was including that in the course 👍😏.
I can't imagine somebody who is calibrated to comfortably fly formation at say 350-400Kt (in 3 dimensions)
having issues with 150? -180Kt? in car ( in 2 dimensions). Catch ma drift! 🏎.

There was a delay to the National Anthem on the ground due to the President's appearance. It was unfortunately more than was recoverable after the Thunderbirds were already in formation en route.

9 time out of 10, a mistimed flyover is due to the venue being slow to their point, beyond the margin of error that the pilots can account for.

Well they didn't crash, so that's a good thing.

My personal opinion about the "being able to hold the racing line" especially during restrictor plate racing, is no one can hold their line, not the race leader, not the guy in last place, and certainly not anyone in between. Everyone is bouncing in and out side to side and all over the place. IRACING specifically, ive done countless races, and it doesn't matter if your racing a 5000 irating driver, or a 1500 irating driver, i've raced against both and neither of them could hold their line to save their life. I myself have spent well over $4000 on my set up, and have spent well over 5 years in sim racing and no matter how many races i've done, I still struggle with it.

Nascar is not known for makin the best decisions yo. They don't make sense.

Had the privilege of watching the Thunderbirds at the 2024 Pensacola Air Show in November—what a FANTASTIC performance! The missed timing on Sunday was surprising, but there's likely a reasonable explanation. They've nailed countless flyovers at Daytona, Indianapolis, and the Super Bowl. A similar timing issue happened at Navy Football's final home game in 2024, with four Harriers passing mid-anthem.

This is egg on the face of a team that doesn’t have the best reputation to begin with which is very unfortunate

After commuting 1200 miles to fly for the airlines for 25 years, impressed how you can find the time for all the things you do Mover. Good analogy comparing driving to formation flying. As "blue four" I was really flying off lead while #3 was bouncing around.

Having spent a few years active duty Navy and now 25+ years as an Air Force civilian engineer in R&D, digging ditches sounds really attractive now. I don't think the silliness has changed over time. I've just been promoted higher into it and I don't like it one bit.

I was sitting in the 300 level and saw the TBirds go smoke on basically at the start of the song. Knew it was going to be a big miss at that point.

Thunder turds looked like amateurs yesterday. I don't think the Blue's would make that big an error.

On the TBirds, first show of the season. I know the current lead (LtCol Malafa) is in his sophmore year. Oh well, flight was sharp and safe from what I could see, maybe a miscommunications. 1.5 hr. flights?, We in the Vark world call that, "on the way to the IP" time. Cleetus has short track racing experience. He has raced Super Late Models/Sportsman Late Models at the track and obviously the Crown Vics,. I think that's the reason he was able to get in.

The timing on that flyover was bad, no idea what happened there.

Remember the days in NASCAR when you could come from the back of the pack, while still on the lead lap, and you could pass 15-20 cars to take the lead?

I read somewhere that these new-generation cars they're now running make that almost impossible.....like you can't even draft-to-pass anymore, and you're pretty much stuck in whatever position you're at unless someone else wrecks or pits in front of you.

They did 4 fly-bys. Not just one.

The T-Birds flew over a couple of times, I counted 2x just while POTUS' motorcade was doing his laps with the field following behind him. Someone took video in a lead vehicle looking back at his limo, and you can see the T-Birds fly over twice.

Taxpayers in the stands watching the motorcade take laps: "Is this why tickets were so expensive this year?"

Could you imagine Cole Trickle coming off pit road at 100mph+ and putting the limo into the wall like "Days of Thunder?" lol

Hi I love your channel. When they do the flyover for the Daytona 500, what time and how long are the thunderbirds in the air before they do the first flyby for the national anthem? For example, if the flyover is scheduled at 1:00pm what time would the thunderbirds takeoff?
