Would you categorise the East India employees as illegal immigrants?
Ответить👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьIndia just trust yourself!!!!!!
Ответитьunderrated video
ОтветитьSquarespace?
Hey, remember Established Titles?
Good times. Good times.
Cutso krill
ОтветитьNegatives given, leaving out the substantial positives of colonialism in India.
Are we surprised?
In my country Bangladesh the name Mir Jafar is synonymous to Traitor. No one names their children as mir jafar. And I must mention that Robert clive is the most hated british person in my country. Your take on Nawab Sirajuddaula as murderous is based on falsified history. Also you forgot to mention that a large portion of the force were under mir jafars command and they never attacked the colonial mercenaries. As well as the french had only 3 artillery pieces, nawabs forces had the rest of the artillery pieces.
ОтветитьNote the English flag not Union Flag ! What does that tell you ?
ОтветитьWorked with the US and Canada too. The Virginia Company of London and The Hudson's Bay Company.
ОтветитьBest company ever!
Ответить👏🎯👏.I know it’s not a Funny Topic, but. Have you seen Comedian Eddie Izzard’s Rant on How England/ British ‘ Established ‘ it’s early We-Now-Own-You Colonization ? By using the TACTIC of using a FLAG. 🤣😂 Amazing too the importance, Usage & Financial worth of SPICES! . God Bless. NRN. 👴🏽NoBody. PS- don’t forget the TWO “ Opium Wars “ against China!
You really need to go back to Portugal and the 1500s to explain this properly. You also aren't pointing out the Hindu vs. Islam rivalries that pushed Southern India to side with Europeans (notably Portugal) in anti-Islamic Alliance. Portugal took over the Indian ocean and eventually the Pacific due to diplomatic Alliances with Christian Coptic Ethiopia and Hindu India. 75% of the manpower on Portuguese ships in the area was from Africa and India. Europe already had a presence in India before England arrived and England fought these Europeans for India. Basically Europeans took advantage of Hindu anger at Islamic Dynasties like the Mughals.
ОтветитьDo biographies of Mughal emperors on Biographics!
ОтветитьWait, they were torchering witches in India?! Kind of bizarre.
ОтветитьGood to know capitalism hasn't changed much in over 300 years...
ОтветитьSomething about hearing a brit try to whitewash (even if only a little) this travesty hits wrong
ОтветитьI'm actually surprised that the comment section is pretty civil✌️
ОтветитьGreat and. Informative video, can you do the Hudson Bay Company next?
ОтветитьWhen you talk with people who are die hard anti-colonialism you tend to get to the point where They acknowledge yes the preexisting circumstances may have been horrifically oppressive but it wasn't done by people who don't look like you
ОтветитьI wish someone would make a movie on this without bias
ОтветитьAurangzeb was also the son of Shah Jehan, who had the Taj Mahal built.
ОтветитьLove your informative videos, thanks for spending so much time researching. BTW the blue light is better than the red circle.
ОтветитьIf I had a time machine I would love to see the British Raj
ОтветитьI think most individual people who went to actually colonize didn't do so with poor intent, their lives probably sucked ass already and they were trying to go somewhere else. The rulers and military leaders on the other hand... well there's not much defending them is there? All things considered it is crazy we have gone from 90% of the population being in basically unliveable conditions to where we are now. It's been extremely fast too, but there is still so much to be done, so many roads aren't built yet. I've only really seen the world going up throughout history, and im sure it will continue. If climate change is mostly subverted and countries start being more cooperative with each other im not sure anything could stop the human race other than time and entropy
ОтветитьHow generous you are to your countrymen saying that they didn't mean to pillage India and then murder the natives when peacefully marched for independence.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that instantly thought of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, with the name of the company lol?
ОтветитьIt's always so jarring going from watching Simon all serious and solemn on Warographics or Into The Shadows to how excited salesman-y he is in ads for these videos
ОтветитьThis portrayal of western civilization as inferior to the Chinese and Indian civilizations is totally moronic and unhistorical. Who ended up outwitting and dominating who for hundreds of years?
ОтветитьModhi has a unique talent for forgetting his own countries history, doesn't he ? Gives great hugs, though Not from behind, though, please.
ОтветитьMoguls using French mercs. Wow, I didn't know about that part.
Ответитьall that for their food to bland in the end anyway
ОтветитьCommon UK Win
ОтветитьI didn’t realize colonialism’s merit was still contentious. I feel like those who support it, although fervent, are more like qanon or flat earthers 🤪
Ответитьdamn, sounds like a precursor to what America did with Hawaii...
ОтветитьShould have called this episode "Despite this Unpromising Start: Whitey Fumblefucks His Way to Glory" XD
ОтветитьAll drug running genocidal maniacs hiding behind the union jack
Ответитьcalling this a private company is a complete joke.
1) a publicly traded corporation is by definition not private but public. it literally says so in its name.
2) the government granted it a monopoly just like that. if that's not a government favor i dont know what is. you or me couldnt get that, which makes it close-state from the very beginning to say the least. and considering only government owned companies and the government itself ever had a real monopoly on anything noteworthy, this is just another way the british government tried to hide its tracks but really being behind it all.
3) taxation isnt sth private companies can do, only governments
colonise is to take over, what was there to take over??? we settled and created a country and governance.
Ответить1747 to 1947

1526 to 1857
- Mughal Rule in India
1674 to 1818
- Maratha Rule in India
I suggested this a couple of weeks ago on the brilliant Starshot video, thanks for doing it :D
ОтветитьA single drunken british sailer climbing onto a rampart, waving his pistol about and screaming "This place is mine!!" and that ACTUALLY WORKING as a tactic is about the most British colonial thing I've ever heard.
ОтветитьSimon is a lefty Brit ponce. But he is quite a shnazzy dresser, eh?
ОтветитьBTW,I'd love to see a video clarifying the controversy regarding eliminating the "House of Lords", and explaining their role in Parliament.
ОтветитьIt's about British not India. This is completely baised and wanted to picture British as not evil.
Ответить“Private Company”
That’s an oxymoron
Another brilliant video. 📹
Keep up the good work Simon & great beard by the way. 😁
You for real called a share holding company a private company?
