Flying a Helicopter for the first time!! Bushcat pilot takes control of a Robinson R44 for a lesson.

I have always loved helicopters and have flown in them plenty, I even worked alongside helicopter pilots when I flew commercial fixed wings but never really have I had a chance to fly one... so after all these years I booked myself in for a 1hr lesson with Utility Helicopters at Archerfield, Queensland.

Sadly the headset/patch lead wasn't compatible so I couldn't record Audio and I only ran 2 cameras - but it was good to capture my lesson as I can look back and see how wobbly I was!

After an hour of expert coaching I was able to fly straight and level and even attempted a hover. A long way to go but it was really fun to fly something totally different.

With over 35 aircraft types in my log book - this was the first helicopter!

Now to save to do some more lessons :)
