Interesting what you say about the case - I've got this and a 44GS, and I actually prefer the lugs on this as it's more dressy, and merges with the wrist better. Great strap choice btw.

I dunno, man, I think the smaller lugs look way more graceful than the longer ones on typical Grand Seikos. They're not stubby like the Turtle and not long like a vintage watch. They're slightly curved which ties into all the curves on the rest of the case. It's a perfect case design imo.

The case should have been 36 x 43. Then it’d be less round and thus more elegant?

Love the review. It does look bulbous to me too. Like…too squished. I wish it were longer and more elegant, and a few thousand dollars cheaper 😅

Beautiful! I wish I had the money to buy one. I don’t see a problem with the price, it’s not this is mass production so the people buy these would have sought them out.

The case on this watch is superb, elegant, and minimal allowing the viewer to enjoy the dial without distraction. I know this, do you know why? because I am the lucky owner of this masterpiece.

I'm just a little perplexed by your term Grand cycles are just for collectors. I would assume anyone that spends almost 9 Grand on any one watch probably has more than one watch just saying ,so that would. make us all collectors. My opinion GS has arrived. In a world where 39mm Rolex OPs are selling for a ridiculous price of seven Grand over list this watch is a bargain

Beautiful looking watch. I just have a hard time justifying that kind of money for a watch that just tells the time. If I had F U money, I would definitely pick this up as a nice dress watch. But where I'm at in life, I'm looking for a watch that gives me more features for the same price: GMT, chronograph, date function at the minimum.

grand seiko is a japanese brand, hence the shorter lugs to accommodate to a lot of local collectors & seiko enthusiasts

You may or may not care but I think that you're deserving of a much higher subscriber base. The quality in production of your videos is not only at a very high standard but also unique with watches. So kudos to you, I love your videos. Ass kissing over.

I love this watch. This GS is the embodiment of the company. The attention to detail is always there and the story of the dial but the simplicity and beauty of the dial is simply stunning. Will add it the long list of watches I want and wait for that lottery win.

This is a gorgeous watch no doubt, but I’m with you, 8k on a dress watch just isn’t it for me. So I’m looking at the SBGW231, seems to be the perfect alternative for half the price 👌

I think a lot of people are forgetting the SBGY005. It's the same movement but the dial is amazing... sadly micro studio only made 22 of it in the world and was released in Osaka only I believe...

This case back is probably one of the ugliest open case back I’ve ever seen. What are they thinking really. I know it’s very subjective but I can’t be the only one who thinks that.

Not sure about the case shape, will have to see in person, but perhaps it's more distinctive with a hint of japanese style about it
