the reason you want to make sure he is mounted paralyzed ect. during super critical is because you can only damage the chest during that phase otherwise you cant hurt it.

(This is an actual problem for me im so worried that I will flinch someone whenever I attack once, and I dont want that so I try to attack ONLY the tail, to my own detriment)

I have also killed Safi a few times very shortly after unlocking him with the Full Frostfang Alpha+ Armor set and Stygian Zinogre LS. Then switched to the Safi Drakblade once I got it whenever fighting him.

These days i like to 'help' by joining random safi lobby and killing it P1 solo, so the other group always cameback confused when 'safi jiva siege is complete' over and over again. Best way to farm for them tbh. Better to do P1 kill with level 9 reward each time rather than breaking stuff and go in to P2 or P3

On a sidenote I don't even like safi weapons, they look good but realistically, i prefer my lightbreak axe, hell, any dedicated build that capitalizes on safi weaknesses is officially your friend. the aquashot is good, yes... however, play the way you feel best at, your more of a hinderance to the team using something your not good with.

is it possible to remove augments from the weapons?

I do it with defender gears for 3 slay and still just fine

for my switch axe boys going to fight safi for the first time, here's the build I used
Teostra crown B
Kirin Jacket B
Teostra gloves B
Teostra coil B
Garuga greaves B
evasion charm
Evanescent glow
Decorations:
Enough evasion, at least one friendship jewel (wide range), protection at 2 or 3, as much part breaker as you can get, and whatever else you feel like adding (maybe get crit eye to 7, get a satiated jewel, health boost charm, etc).

Hi so here's my problem with this guide:

You start off by explaining, that the hunt is about breaking the parts, not doing optimal damage. That, if you're doing optimal damage on broken parts you're denying yourself and your teammates the rewards. (I personally disagree with this part, I don't think that "you're pulling your teamates down because x" is a healthy mentality for monster hunter. But for the sake of the argument let's say you're right.) You even go to the lenghts of saying that poison is bad for those matters, and that even though speed runners use it, you shouldn't be running it, because your objective is to destroy the parts moreso than to kill the monster. Because of this, you also completely fail to mention, that the broken parts have better hitzones: Because of that, you reinforce the notion that everyone should be breaking the parts. A newbie is probably aware of the fact, that not everyone is going to have the same objectives: that some may actually want to go for damage over rewards. The promblem is, that a newbie comming from your video, might assume, that everybody who's targeting broken parts is doing so only to troll everyone else, since you've made clear for him, that doing damage on broken parts is the equivalent of stealing hp and time for the other parts. In their head, there's absolutely no benefit in attacking broken parts, so they won't understand why anyone is targeting those parts. The worst part about this, is that in the end you talk about a certain recommended damage set, that contradict's all you've been saying up to this point. Elemental damage does not contribute towards breaking parts, sticky on the other hand, is probably the single best way to break parts in the entire game, and yet you discourage people form using it over a set, that is mostly going to be "stealing" the monsters hp pool. The thing is, you've already established with your argument against using poison, that speedrunner strats are not necessarily the optimal choice for the "general" partbreaking plan. And yet, the main selling point that you present, for recommending element over sticky is precisely because speedrunners use those. That's two contradictions in one.


TLDR This guide has some missleading chunks of info: If you want to go for partbreaks use Sticky on bowguns. For damage use elemental ammo. Do keep in mind that elemental dmg does not contribute towards breaking parts. Also know, that broken parts have better hitzones. Finally, you're not a jerk, if you just want to go for damage. You're not pulling anyone down. If anything, you're saving time for everyone and probably even pulling safi's aggro on you so the others can go ham on him.

I play with randoms most of the time, and if I get my big slam I can break the back in 1 hit, so I prioritize getting the mounts before the randoms do

Partbreaker? No. I already run a far better build, the perfect build.

MAX WIDE RANGE: 70+ HEALS/ SUPPORTS PER RUN, and I ain't gonna be skimping on damage either...

my build for safi is Max Att boost, Max Agitator, Max Critical eye, Max Crit Boost, Max Weakness exploit, Max Part Breaker, Max Quick Sheath ( I'm a LS main ), Max Health Boost, Lv 1 Sharpening, Agitator Secret, Punishing Draw, Coalescence Lv 2 + Divine Protection Lv 2 ( mantle/Not active ) and Lv 2 tool specialist ( mantle/not active ), deal nice demage from what I see...

As someone who just got to fight him and seeing folks upset that they need Safi to beat Safi, you don't need to. I have 4 frostfang parts and the buff body and I do just fine. Though I have used the frostfang LS. But various weapons will work. Just use what you think is best and use your Hunter spirit to maximum effort and you can kill him. No worries folks!

please ban LBG, they gets all the attention from monster and cause the monster chase them all over the map. huge pain in the ass for all other weapon users

Can't believe you didn't recommend flashing Safi out of his grab attack. Works beautifully, knocks him right out of the sky.

Me over here literally just done with the campaign and fighting xeno jiva without even knowing there's a decoration called part breaker but i already have a maxed out weapon.

I have another one for the list:
when you see Safi shooting his beam upwards on stage 3 STOP dealing damage immediately.
It'll drop the boulders that you and your teammates will use to protect against the sopernova later on.
If you trip him (or her, I don't know) during this attack you're pretty much screwed.

It doesn't matter how many times I finished an objective, it always appears as ??? on my list.
I've made tons of runs and still have 2 objectives unlocked.

So basically what I learned:
Hammers? Don’t go for the head. Insect Glaives? No aerial attacks for you. Status users? Let’s take three of those out of there. Personalized build? Nah fam, ya gotta go for PB and Wide Range. Use aquashot, but not because I said to, but because SPEEDRUNNERS use it. Smh man just stop shoving wrong info down people’s throats, let them do the siege how they wanna do it, and don’t try to give them info based on what speedrunners do.

Poison is good for P1 runs. And missing some parts is not that bad cause reward 15 to 17 also yields 4 weapon.

And if people don't want to speed run? Personally, I don't like water ammo. I much prefer to run my sticky ammo build with lvl 5 artillery, lvl 5 attack and lvl 3 KO. Of course, with max part breaker. Works great, stuns Safi A LOT! Which means free part damage for everyone.

I use gs for safi siege, i dont think. I got order from my team mate and i go. They the one with experience, me? I just MR 69. Hahaha
