I'm going for the same degree, but please tell me how is the career outlook?
ОтветитьAre these tests, essays, and exams timed? what if you fail?
ОтветитьWriting this for the benefit of anyone thinking of doing WGU at an advanced pace. This week I'll be finishing my BS in Supply Chain and Ops Management. I transferred in a general business AA that covered by general ed and basic business classes, so it was half way done, but I did the second half in 7 weeks.
Strategy:
Objective assessments: take the pre-assessment, then learn what every single term means in that pre assessment. The key terms are constant, but questions aren't. One issue you may hit like I did is that sometimes the key terms covered on the pre assessment are different than the objective assessment. However, if you came in solid enough you'll still pass. If you absolutely bomb certain categories of the pre assessment, go into the course material and take unit and section quizzes to learn the info and key terms. Never assume you weak category will be covered by your strong ones.
Performance assessments: Just like the dude says, just break down the rubric. Cover every section completely, even if it seems blocky and silly sometimes. Personally, I'm good at papers, but there are also powerpoint and excel assessments. For each, it will still ask for in depth explanations of things, so I always wrote a paper and copied and pasted relevant sections into presenter notes.
Time: I work as a CDL yard driver, so I had some downtime and would do my pre assessments, studying key terms, and performance assessments at work. The I'd schedule the post assessments the next day.
FYI: If your goal is to achieve a massive depth of knowledge from scratch, WGU is not for you. If you want to promote in a field that you already have knowledge but not a degree in, WGU is for you. Personally, I found that I knew a lot of the material, but not all of it. In my case though, my best choice was to finish and promote quickly, but I will be going back and ordering books to deepen my knowledge of topics I scraped by in.
Were the test proctored?
ОтветитьAre the performance objective proctored

ОтветитьHow much money need for it?
ОтветитьHey man question, so you only transfered in 6 credits. So no pregame like other yt videos have been suggesting. Just enrolled, focused and banged them out? You just have to pass a final exam and/or final paper? and there's a pre assessment you can take and retake?
ОтветитьYou're a genius and we most likely would be friends lol and congratulations !
ОтветитьGreat video, great advice, & straight to the point ! 🙌
Ответитьi think its great, but a small piece of me wonders how much scrutiny WGU will get in the future due to these insane speed runs. This by far is one of the fastest i have seen
ОтветитьThis was truly great❤ Thank you!
ОтветитьSorry. I work full time. It'll take me multiple years. Dont have multiple years and six figures. Maybe in my next life.
ОтветитьCould i complete the b.a then use that to skip general education through going to a brick and morter?
ОтветитьThank you man!
ОтветитьMy question is, how much time did you put in every day? Also, were you financially healthy where you did not have to work? Because I work 10 hour days, commute at least 2 hours and barely get home and try to put in at least 5 hours a night during the week and 8 hours on Saturdays. I feel like it is taking forever.
ОтветитьI beat you kid , 2 months 75 units ITM Bachelors degree ... Lol , but seriously , You really motivated me to give it my all, and showed it was possible !!! Thank YOU!
ОтветитьThank you Kevin.

Ответитьkeep pushing ma man. good job
ОтветитьNo information on the Capstone project. Did you do it? Was it hard?
ОтветитьJesus Christ. 17 with the quickest bachelor's degree on Earth.
Can't imagine walking into a company and this kids the boss ROFL. Hilarious.
The degrees are fast, but nobody is going to take a 17-18 year old serious in the field if they don't have some type of work experience to prove how they are qualified. You might get into an Assistant manager position, then after 4-5 years bump up to a manager position, but the degree isn't going to be needed until you're going for Director positions, regional positions or something around that speed. There's no possible way to shortcut life sadly.
I know people with Masters in IT management from WGU and they can't direct programs because they have zero know how of how the field works. These degree's are niche, but a few are actually quite good. The HIMS program they offer will allow you to be RHIA certified, and become a director of healthcare information right off the jump. The cyber security degree if you really learn the material and walk with the certifications will land you an entry level job.
I don't want you to think the degree is worthless at such a young age, but usually it's a 4 year process because it allows 4 years of Part-time jobs and customer service. You go, Ah I graduated high school 6 months ago, got my bachelors in 87 days and I just completed my MBA in 60. The company is going to appreciate the interview, but close the door immediately. The companies are looking for life experience, older people who look like they make sense to run an organization. They can't put you in as a CEO or VP at 19.. haha nobody would take them serious and they'd lose a shit ton of worker bees over it.
You can at your age though walk straight into the air guard and fly jets for the military, or possibly even apply for multiple different Federal law enforcement jobs once you turn 21, and even apply for the FBI.
Get some work experience under your belt 5-7yrs, even if you're just a broker for a truck driving company at first or go the military route and get that Officer Commission!
I'm from Indonesia, can I study there for free
ОтветитьHi Kevin, Thank you for share your experience
ОтветитьHow many hours a day did u spend in school to finish?
