Fabulous ❤❤❤
ОтветитьDoes anyone think Sonny and Cher kind of copied them?
ОтветитьThe “female Frank Sinatra.”
ОтветитьUnbelievable talent.
ОтветитьTrash then. Trash now. You don't get a pass because of a "distinctive voice". Don't be bamboozled. This is dhogg dhoo.
ОтветитьZero talent....must have had the mob behind him.
ОтветитьDAMN!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьMan, the talent and great performers of yesteryear, they had a 'magic' that overall you don't see today. You can tell that Louis Prima and Keely Smith had a great time doing this wonderful 'number'. Fresh as ever. You can't say that about today's pop...not even close.
ОтветитьHow can you not love this to death?
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьWe saw them a number of times in Vegas ( when it was still cool ) always a great show.
ОтветитьThis is who my daughter Keely was named after
ОтветитьBeauty and the Beast!
ОтветитьI have left flowers at her grave at forest lawn Hollywood hills she has a nice place I would like to visit Louis too 🌻🌼🌺🌹🌷
ОтветитьLouis Prima is s joke and adds nothing; is he for real?? Keely Smith should dump him as she doesn’t need him.
ОтветитьTalent like we'll never see again. Amazing entertainment! Keely Smith---what a treasure!
ОтветитьFirst 🥇 class both Louis and Keeley just bounce Off each other two legendary singers sadly missed don't make like they used to Respect from a Teddy Boy 🎶🎼📻🎶🚀
ОтветитьMan, she could sing.....they were great together
ОтветитьMarvelous. Every second.
Imagine seeing these 2 in Vegas?
Looks like her dress designer use to work for Hershey's Kisses.
ОтветитьThis performance among so many others by Keely and Louis are immortal.
ОтветитьJust becoming aware of Keely Smith and her work. Her voice is incredible, and she's gorgeous. She always looks great on stage and I think that bob haircut was invented for her. Louis isn't too shabby either.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU for sharing this, sir ! I grew up listening to this song. But to SEE it performed - HOW WONDERFUL !! SO MUCH FUN ! I Needed to see this today.
ОтветитьA terrific song, but I hate the overdone comedic aspects of their performance which add nothing. She had a great voice which nicely complimented his. No vaudeville needed.
ОтветитьWhat year please? Oh I see 59
ОтветитьThey seem to enjoy each other having fun. Band also having good vibes
ОтветитьWow what a voice Keely had. Louis looked like a born ham! This is a great video and song!
ОтветитьMusicians and singers who were so tight it was hard to find anything wrong in their act. Perfect!
ОтветитьThanks for posting this-what a treat!
ОтветитьTHEY WERE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThis is fun listening!!
ОтветитьLovely Keely💕
ОтветитьFun
ОтветитьI'm not a fan of this genre of music but Mr. Prima is so damn well dressed ...Respect. Legend.
ОтветитьThis is the hip version of Lawrence Welk for that era.
ОтветитьI forgot how well Keely could sing. She is great!
ОтветитьThis is the hallmark of the Prima/Smith duo. The son by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer is perfect for them!!! Can you see Sonny and Cher doing this? They stole Prima and Smith's act!!!
Ответитьi got to see sammy
so few gathered
She had a fantastic voice. I love their version of “Its Magic”
Ответитьher voice is so powerful.
ОтветитьRight now, I can't imagine anything better than this performance.
ОтветитьWow this was sooo lovely!! Laughs soo hard!! =D
ОтветитьI always loved Keely Smith and Louie Prima, still do. They made me laugh with the silly antics. The first time I saw Sonny and Cher I said they must have taken notes from them. They were playful and silly too. Cher being a bit more serious like Keely and Sonny being all over the place like Louie. Wish we still had singers like Keely and Louie. Thanks for the video.😊
ОтветитьI first heard this song which Jerry Lewis sang in his movie The Nutty Professor which I saw in either CINEMAX or HBO a couple of years ago. I didn't know he was the original actor in that movie. I thought it was Eddie Murphy.
ОтветитьAnd we must not forget his backup musicians, especially Sam Butteira. A talent on his own.
ОтветитьDouglas thank you so very much for uploading this. I can remember when I first discovered Louis Prima and Keely Smith my now deceased Grandfather Lindsay Blake 1933-2018 actually had a cassette tape called, "A Tribute To Louis Prima" & I became a lifelong fan of both them since I was a teenager so many years ago back in the mid 90's (I'm 41 now just about to turn 42 in a couple of days!!!). I remember TCM or AMC use to show Black and White movies that they appeared in and I had a crush on Keely as I thought that she reminded me of a girl that I loved so many years ago. Thank you so very much for this upload.
