This is an introductory session on scenario planning.
Scenario planning can be used in a number of different circumstances for strategic purposes. Given our current circumstances with regards to COVID-19, scenario planning can offer particularly useful insights. Scenario planning processes and tools are often applied during periods of significant uncertainty and change (e.g., the Oil Crisis in the 1970s, post 9/11).
Scenario planning is a tool that can help organizations to distinguish between what they can control and what they cannot control, and what policies they can develop in light of this dynamic. In this sense, the hypothetical scenarios are not necessarily about COVID-19 but about the vulnerabilities that COVID-19 has exposed in your organization.
